It is not ignorant jf you look at how this shit looks in reality. Most psychology studies are purely theoretical with very little relevance to real life. Philosophy studies are done just analyzes of old philosophers. A lot of sociology papers do not meet the basic criteria of science. I invite you to read the book cynical theories for more on that topic. https://www.amazon.com/Cynical-Theories-Scholarship-Everything-Identity-ebook/dp/B08BGCM5QZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=cynical+theories&qid=1619717464&sr=8-1
> It’s like someone dropped a bomb on actual social progress.
Critical theory is that bomb.
Highly recommend this book, if you're interested in learning more about how critical theory has fucked our college system and is tearing apart our social fabric.
>What a completely meaningless statement.
It has become clear to me during this conversation that you have NO idea what you're talking about. Again, you've been told that James Lindsay is the bad guy, that you should hate him, and you believed those people.
You've been duped. You're a fool. You're criticizing somebody and you don't know anything about them.
Good luck with your life, I hope the Scientologists never find you.
Yes, I'm aware of CRT, and agree with the critique of it in https://www.amazon.com/Cynical-Theories-Scholarship-Everything-Identity-ebook/dp/B08BGCM5QZ
But this is a more moderate, understated, and ultimately deadly critique of the postmodern/SJW phenomenon - as is Kim Badenoch's - but Guido Fawkes goes over the top, and I don't think this is as effective.
To get the deepest understanding it's probably best to check a book like, maybe this one.
The TL;DR is that postmodernism is the underlying theory for "woke" culture. The basic tenant is to deny all previously known truths. Interestingly despite reddit being largely postmodernists they claim to also believe science but postmodernism rejects science as sexist/racist, etc. You see this in e.g. transgender sports: some people claim there is zero genetic difference between biological males and females which flies in the face of all biological science (yes, some bigots extrapolate things from the science which the science does not say but I'm not talking about that).
The book Cynical Theories explains this pretty well.

Yes, thanks for asking, there is a good book on this by Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay - "Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity—and Why This Harms Everybody"

It's cheap only about $7 but you may be able to find it for free online somewhere.
I'm not sure what you mean that he can't discuss it. Peter and his contemporaries discuss the foundational ideas behind modern social justice ideology at length in hundreds of articles, interviews, and talks they've given in the last 4 years. A quick Google search will yield endless results. The entire New Discourses website is devoted to this purpose.
James Lindsay and Helen Pluckrose, who work closely with him, wrote an entire book called Cynical Theories to delve into the deep and troubling history and evolution of the modern social justice movement, looking at its origins, how it evolved, and how it's being applied in modern scholarship and society. It's currently sitting at 4.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon, which is pretty amazing considering how controversial the subject matter it tackles is.
What you say couldn't be further from the truth. Boghossian and his contemporaries have undoubtedly studied this phenomenon, and its foundations, more than any other scholars on the planet.
