Hi, I'm looking to buy a smart, minimalistic dress watch for all round use. I have a budget of £100 and have looked around and the best I've found is a Daniel Wellingtons St Mawes.
Visually it is exactly what I'm looking for: a leather strap, simple dial and gentlemanly. I was wondering if this is a good choice, I don't know very much about watches and some sources online say DW watches are overpriced? If so, what else would be good recommendations?
I looked at this watch at Nordstrom and it retails for $230 but I bought it at amazon for $125 (link below). I like it quite a bit and it has that classic modern slim design that I feel is very in style right now. The watch looks great with any outfit and I think it's an unbeatable price for how nice it looks. I have been getting constant compliments.
I am very surprised to see no one has mentioned Daniel Wellington watches.
Here is an Amazon link for the St. Andrews watch for $141 and free shipping
I've had the above watch for some time and wear it almost every day (of course, not today–so I cannot provide pictures) but it truly is a fantastic time piece that is super light weight, stylish and very affordable. I constantly get compliments on the item. They also have a great array of watch straps on their website, from crocodile to Red, White and Blue Nato straps that are all very easy to put on and take off.
Couldn't recommend more!
Busy, "skeleton" watches are gauche. Daniel Wellington watches are simplistic and won't break the bank.
I also love this watch and it's much cheaper on amazon [link]
Still hunting? Try Daniel Wellington. Gaining popularity quite a bit.
In case anyone was wondering, the watch he is wearing is a Daniel Wellington St. Mawes.
