Personally I nursed almost exclusively on the couch or my bed the first few months but the older she got and the easier the nursing got we started using it all the time. To read or nurse or rock to sleep. She’s 2.5 and we read a book every night in our glider. This is the one we have!
My concern with the mini crib is how quick can they out grow it. My daughter is tall. She's never been out of the 90 something percentile. My husband is 6ft and I'm 5'2ft so not really something we expected. She outgrows everything before the generalized age. I'd worry about mini cribs falling into that and then either you have to buy a new crib, or transition to a toddler bed early.
This is our glider. It is pretty skinny but not uncomfortably so. The back is high which was a must and it's comfortable. We like it a lot. Now that she's older though we wish we had a rocking recliner (we plan on getting one for toddlers room and putting this one in the baby's room) but we definitely agree that would have been dangerous in the early days. It is very comfortable but not comfortable to fall asleep easily in which is important when they're newborns.
I have this one (purchased used) and really like it. Comfy and not too bulky for our small place.
I would recommend one that reclines and has something to prop your feet up on, as that really helps with breastfeeding and to an extent bottle feeding. The gliding is nice for soothing baby.
I have the DaVinci Olive swivel glider with ottoman and I love it. It swivels 360 degrees as well as glides, leans far back, and rocks and is super comfy without sinking into it (which I hate while nursing). It has got a high back so even my 6’+ husband can lean comfortably with head support. The armrests are soft but kind of broad and flat so I can set my iPad on them to watch a movie or whatever if I get nap-trapped. And it comes with a lumbar pillow which I use as a nursing pillow and it works great. Can’t recommend it enough! I think it’s $329 new (although I got mine gently used for about half that, woohoo!).
This one has worked well for us. I'm 5'3 and my husband is 6'. Easy to clean, comfortable but not so much we fall asleep on accident, glides quiet and no spots for small fingers to get pinched.
We have this one and we like it a lot. Tall back, easy to clean, comfortable, slim enough to fit into her room easily.
Buuuuut. This time around we are looking for a rocking recliner (or just reclining chair) that can be moved to our living room and not look like it came from the nursery. We plan on putting it in the toddlers room until she no longer needs it, and putting the glider in the baby's room. If I had $1000 I would go to a furniture store instead of getting a traditional nursery glider. We really like our glider but it's going to look odd in the living room.
oh my gosh i’m obsessed with my chair. once it’s not in the nursery anymore it’s going in our living room! here is the link!
i have a pretty small room for my babys nursery, this one is the only one that fit enough for me to walk around my room.

We found one quite similar on AmazonAmazon and we’ve been using it daily for 2.5 years. Love it.
