I wrote my bachelor's thesis on Israeli foreign policy not that long ago, so I can recommend a couple of books that I found to be quite helpful:
Hope this helps!
>Israel defends its self every few years.
Bullshit. Israel has been the aggressor in almost every single conflict in its history, and even in the cases where it wasn't the clear-cut aggressor, it certainly wasn't purely a defender.
"Most of the wars in which Israel was involved were the result of deliberate Israeli aggressive design. None of these wars – with the possible exception of the 1948 War of independence – was what Israel refers to as Milhemet Ein Berah (war of necessity). They were all wars of choice." - Zeev Maoz, "Defending the Holy Land"
>The truth is if Israel laid down arm tomorrow they would be destroyed.
Nobody is asking for them to lay down their arms, just to stop attacking other countries, stop occupying and blockading Palestine, and live within their legal borders.
>If the countries surrounding Isreal laid down arms their would be peace in the Middle East.
That's bullshit, and it's an absurd thing to ask of any country. Israel doesn't want peace, and it's made that abundantly clear many times over. Of the two times they were closest to reaching a peace deal, Netanyahu is on tape bragging about torpedoing the first one, and Sharon abruptly withdrew from the second.
>Israel and the Jews want to simply exist, they aren't the ones saying there won't be peace until the other side doesn't exist which is what Palestine and Iran say almost daily.
You just can't help spewing absolute nonsense can you?. If Israel just wanted to exist they wouldn't be building settlements in Palestine. They wouldn't break ceasefire after ceasefire. They wouldn't repeatedly tank peace talks. The Palestinians, along with every other country in the world other than Israel & the US, want a peace agreement on the pre-June 1967 borders.
>Israel isn't agressing a war when the retaliate against mortars and suicide bombings.
That's not what happened, and it hasn't been the case in any of the conflicts Israel has gotten involved in.
You either have no idea what you're talking about, or you're being deliberately disingenuous.
