I just don't know how all of you water pickers do it. I've tried and, even on the lowest settings, the water pressure is just too strong, and the jet of water it produces is just too thin in diameter. It's like jabbing little needles into the soft flesh of my throat. I must be doing something wrong, but I've tried with two different units.
Anyhow, I'm mostly writing to recommend people try those little curvy, pointy, plungie, syringie things. Something like this. I can control the water pressure and they're only $5, which might be more in line with some people's budgets.
I don't mean to diss the water pik. It it works for you, then, great. You do you. It just didn't work for me and I wanted to spread the word on another option.
I'm going to go gargle now.
You don't need to use a water flosser. Just get some large plastic syringes like these and a flashlight. I find that using a flashlight in a dark room actually helps to find all the little buggers.
I would cut a piece of 3/4 plywood (or hardwood) to the same shape, then force some wood glue into the crack and glue and screw the new piece above the existing piece using #8 1 1/2” pan (round) head screws. Make sure you run at least two screws up thru the cracked section. But 4 total would work.
If I were doing this, I’d cut a square of plywood a little oversized, set it in place and trace the shape so it matches the one that’s there.
A syringe like this will help get glue further into the crack.
Leave the glue set up 24 hours before putting weight on it again.
These are the syringes I have. I tried using my waterpik and the lowest setting was still too much for me, so I got these. I would just stick the tip of the syringe in the holes and flush them out.
Got my tonsils out two weeks ago, so this is a good reminder to go toss those
Call your dentist asap for one or heres a link for an 8 pack on amazon. They dont have singles lol Dental Syringe 8pcs 12cc Disposable Curved Syringe Irrigation Syringe with Curved Tip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0746H8M15/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_M2QE8G9RCS3YFK8FMDWC
I get so much food in my hole but those needles help SOO MUCH im so happy i have it. Idk what i would so without it
I got some syringes that are super useful. I’ve never been able to use my water flosser, the pressure is just way too high. With these, I stick the tip in the holes and it flushes them out. If you don’t know where your holes are, poking around with these would probably help find them. As long as I flush every couple days, they get out before they get giant and gross!
I ate normal about 10 days after but that’s because I’m paranoid 🤣
To clean, the best thing ever is a dental syringe that you can get on Amazon: Dental Syringe 8pcs 12cc Disposable Curved Syringe Irrigation Syringe with Curved Tip https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0746H8M15/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_KHWWAYCC41APCK1DYB6K
But WAIT till you get the stitches out to use the syringe, you will need to keep using it for a while as the holes take timeeeee to close.
I was given this kind of syringe when I was just on clear/pure liquids: Dental Syringe 8pcs 12cc Disposable Curved Syringe Irrigation Syringe with Curved Tip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0746H8M15/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_V3QD2F11CJB8WP30Z72A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
and then was given catheter bags & tubing for thicker liquids later on!
Yes! One like this.

To apply caulk neatly do not use the tube that it comes in. Shoot the caulk into the little 12 cc syringes on the link and trim the tip of the syringe to obtain the size of bead you want. You will cut your usage by at least 80% and put the caulk where you want it. I made a washer whose ID slips onto the barrel of the syringe and wrap some tape around the barrel of the syringe to keep the washer in place. I did my whole house using the little syringes when I resheathed it....and I caulked every seam. The syringes are reusable if you clean them. They are very good for glue, like yellow carpenter's glue too.
