Bob Cordell's book is, in my opinion, the best one for an actual EE who understands circuit analysis. (amazon link)
There are other books which pretend that you can design amplifier circuits without algebra or Laplace transforms, aimed at non-EEs. Some of them are pretty good but, in my opinion, not as good as Cordell's.
