My G502 Lightspeed recently started having these issues, the software fix helped but I wanted a more permanent fix. If you're feeling daring, you can try replacing the left and right switches with better switches, I swapped mine out last night and it's working much better now. Here's a comment I posted on another thread about this issue:
> I got my G502 Lightspeed 3 months ago and it recently started having these issues. Last night I replaced the left and right mouse buttons switches with Kailh GM 4.0 switches using this guide. I've done some soldering in the past but this was my first time desoldering components, I highly recommend using a desoldering pump like this one.
> The clicks are a lot...firmer, I guess is a good way to describe it. I haven't had any double-click or click-drag issues so far, I'm really happy with it. It's pretty difficult to get the original mouse feet off without destroying them, so I replaced them with these and it's much smoother now.
