So I just bought this a few moments ago. Not sure how it converts to your location but Amazon seems to have some good deals popping up:
Limited-time deal: DEWALT 20V Max XR Cordless Drill Combo Kit, Brushless, 2-Tool (DCK283D2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A08YKV6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_dl_84ZAQJH9Z86GQ49RXG26
DCK283D2. Hope this is what you meant. Also copied link to Amazon.

This is the kit from amazon. The lowes kit (same price) also comes with 1 free brushless tool.

Thanks all. Pretty much what I figured (going either way is a win). I pulled the trigger on the Dewalt gen2. It came down to the power in the gen2 Dewalt being pretty amazing, the new LED (better placement than Milwaukee and quite powerful with 3 settings) and great battery life.
I grabbed this if anyone is curious: DEWALT DCK283D2 MAX XR Lithium Ion Brushless Compact Drill/Driver & Impact Driver Combo Kit, 20V https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A08YKV6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_FROUxb5ZW0X04
With a bit set.
This DeWalt max XR impact driver and drill kit is on sale for $179 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A08YKV6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slickdeals09-20&ascsubtag=7482d9d67e1811edbd18eef2e093f6790INT&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

Agreed, I don't think I can go wrong going with either. The Dewalt prices are cheaper currently with sales.
This deal does look tempting especially as I get 5% off at Amazon and have a $50 GC I was recently awarded through work: https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCK283D2-Compact-Cordless-Driver/dp/B01A08YKV6/
However, the impact driver it comes with is the DCF887 which is 1/4". I assume this would not be good for cars with removing the lug nuts and such correct? Come to think of it, my deep impact socket set is 1/2". Doh!
I really appreciate the response. So I narrowed my search down and I am definitely getting him the DCF887B, along with DCD791 (kit https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCK283D2-Lithium-Brushless-Compact/dp/B01A08YKV6/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1498459399&sr=8-11&keywords=dewalt+kit)
I was able to find out from him that he needs a sawzall, aka a reciprocating saw. Is there a unit you would recommend? I am looking at these ones:
Thank you!
Well there you go. That was easy! Thanks for the advice.
