Yeah my dad used some dewalt too.
It comes with both a fixed and a plunge base, sorry I didn't explain well

I've heard good things about the makita and porter cable as well, the dewalt is just the only one I have. It's good though.
This is a good deal, this is bigger then my palm router.

This is the one I use https://www.woodworkingshop.com/product/DW00611PK/
This is like what is in my router table https://www.portercable.com/products/power-tools/woodworking-tools/routers/314-hp-maximum-motor-hp-fivespeed-router/7518
When you go to build your router table I highly suggest a router lift. It allows you to make height adjustments to your router bit from above the table. They are not cheap but not drawing under my table saw is worth the cost. My router table is in the wing of my table saw to save space.

My next quick project is going to be building a cabinet for under my table saw. Don't know exactly what I am going to do yet. I have some angle iron from a bed frame I am thinking about turning into a cabinet for my saw. If for nothing else better dust collection!
$200-250? But honestly I’m not sure of even the quality to price points so I have expect for you to tell me I can’t get anything good at that price range.
for the router I had my eye on either
this DeWalt one Or this Bosch one
Edit: I’ve had good experience with DeWalt tools but it doesn’t look like their router comes with a t handle that allows you to adjust but depth from above the table like the Bosch one does
