My favorite thing is a diamond drill bit they are cheap and add drainage holes with ease.

Yup! Like these ones. I have a similar set. I've only used them on glass (made some spiffy Jack Daniel's and Jim Beam bottle lamps for gifts once) but the box says they work on glass, ceramic, porcelain & tile. I have a few old mugs that i don't want to get rid of that i've been considering this for.
Drilling holes in pots is my jam!
Have you tried using diamond drill bits? I have these from Amazon and they work perfectly! I think the secret to not cracking the pots is to drill under running water. Having someone else there to hold the pot is super helpful too. If you don’t have someone to hold the pot, use some painters tape to make an X where you want to drill; the tape helps prevent the drill bit from slipping when you start the hole! :)
LPT if you happen to love a pot that doesn’t come with a drainage hole—these diamond drill bits are a game changer!
Diamond Drill Bits for Glass, Ceramics, Porcelain, Ceramic Tile, Marble
Drilled 2 holes with a diamond hole saw
Start on an angle to get a divet to hold the bit steady and slowly work towards perpendicular and then power the rest of the way through the glass. Once you get near the end, release almost all of the pressure and just lightly push. This way when it goes through you dont break it.

These $12 Amazon glass bits, and it took a minute. Use these bits and have someone squirt water on the tile as you are drilling to keep the bit cool. Ideally you would drill into a stud. Try using a magnet to see if you can find screws to locate the studs.
I used a diamond drill bit (https://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Baban-Coating-Ceramics-Porcelain/dp/B01L92YM1A) to cut the hole in the bottle. While drilling I used a spray bottle to keep the bit wet and only used the weight of the drill for pressure. It’s important to hold the drill firm, but not to have too much pressure or it will bust out the other side. I recommend practicing on other bottles first and having someone help spray the drill bit so you can use both hands to stabilize the drill.
Then I used wet sandpaper to smooth the hole. For the seal between the bottle and the down stem I use food grade silicon hooka gaskets that I slide around the down stem.
Good luck!!
Yeah you can get a diamond tip drill that is used for glass, ceramic or stone. I have this set with lots of different sizes.

Use these, use a spray bottle with water as you drill but they'll actually work. Those harbour freight bits are not designed for hardened ceramics (porcelain) and tend to heat up and burn out.
If you want to up the ante, use an M14 mount bit, they attach to your grinder and are speedy and easy, but pricy. Talking 10s or less per hole.
I can't speak to the quality or lack thereof. But THere's an 18mm drillbit in that set...
Anything can have drain holes with this! I have a ton of bowls and planters that my hubs drilled for me. Diamond Drill Bits
Basic diamond tip drill bits off Amazon...not the best quality but they work well enough https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L92YM1A/ref=cm_sw_r_apanp_RLYq4biYG6scc
I drill holes using a Diamond bit set I got on Amazon for like 9 bucks :) Here's the link: Diamond Drill Bits
I bought this , work great with any drill
I bought this set from amazon and have used them 3 times without any problem. You will need a drill though.
I've done this on tons of pots, but not porcelain. My method should work though. Use these bits. Do it in a sink under slow running water. Takes 10 seconds or so.
If you need a drill, just get a shitty one from harbor freight. $20 will get you a corded or cordless drill.
I bought these to drill through my tiles:
Oh you need to (get these)[https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L92YM1A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1]
Here are the types of bits I use: https://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Baban-Coating-Ceramics-Porcelain/dp/B01L92YM1A/ref=sr_1_5?crid=142C1M5S649A0&keywords=diamond+drill+bit+hole&qid=1641757986&sprefix=diamond+drill+bit+hole%2Caps%2C71&sr=8-5
I've done some 30 pots in total...in a range of sizes from small to large and made of materials from terra cotta to ceramics.
As long as you go slow, it works great. Here is a video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMC0305FiRA
One piece of advice is to put a tub underneath the pot you are drilling if it is done indoors or outdoors on a nice surface. When the pot has water on it and then breaks through, all of the liquid will spill everywhere and can stain things...especially if drilling terra cotta.
Can confirm: I bought this set and it worked just fine.
These $12 Amazon glass bits, and it only took a minute. I just used some two-part Apoxsee but it’s probably not the best glue for health. Diamond Drill bits- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L92YM1A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_96GREZY9FVJD25TF2S4B

In case you don't get a reply from OP, it's a diamond hole bit.
If you want to drill holes in the glass I'd recommend something like this. Start drilling the hole on a slight angle until a small groove is cut out of the glass, then slowly straighten the drill. Take your time and don't put much pressure on the drill or you'll break the glass. I've had more luck drilling holes in glass with a tiny stream of water flowing over the area. https://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Baban-Coating-Ceramics-Porcelain/dp/B01L92YM1A/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=diamond+hole+saw+for+glass&qid=1615294567&sr=8-5
