I agree completely. I ultimately decided on this $9 scale on Amazon and it’s brilliant. It reads incredibly fast which is what I was concerned with with the cheap scales. I’m so glad I didn’t spend $40 on a scale.
This one from Amazon for $12.
It uses the four feet on the bottom to measure the weight, so it always has to be on a flat surface (problem if your tabletop or whatever is warped at all). I prefer the other type (dunno what it’s called) but this works just fine.
