It's been quite a while since I did any of that sort of work (plus, I'm fucking old) so I don't recall the exact name but I got my start with "Digital Signal Processing in VLSI" or something like that. It was published by Analog Devices to teach people how to use their new at that time Sharc DSP platform.

It might be too general purpose for your use. It's a little on the old side and doesn't, IIRC, have much if anything specific to audio compression. But it does have lots of algorithms, explanations and code samples. It got me through the project.
