One of the best books written on the topic. Also written by a guy who writes a ton of programming books with Dean Miller.
Also only has 3 fingers and 1 leg.
>Could you guarantee...
I'm just going to stop you right there. If your highest concern in life in to have someone above you to "guarantee" you this or that then libertarianism doesn't have a lot to offer you.
There would be nothing stopping you from becoming a ward of someone, and there would probably be a lot of different organizations willing to do this, but there would be no guarantees.
With that out of the way I don't think you are a "lost cause" or anything. Libertarianism has the same things to offer you as it does me, more liberty.
Now, I personally think that a more libertarian society is one that has more & better options, a wealthier one, and a safer one.
However, even if I was to be wrong it is still a society I would like to live in simply because I value freedom higher than I do "guarantee's".
There is also a pragmatic case against government acting in loco parentis for the disabled. I am from America so I don't know your circumstances as well but a decent intro to the subject from an American perspective is: https://www.amazon.com/Disabling-America-Consequences-Governments-Handicapped/dp/0785262253/
