Propaganda happens when the actor doing the propaganda is the also the object of the propaganda. Like Coca Cola saying that Coca Cola is better than Pepsi. This is not exactly how it happened because people are just not going to buy that at face value.
It was not just in the US. The USSR satellite countries intelligence agencies worked with other countries and regions. They had posts in Brazil, Cuba, UK, France...
And saying "The Russians did it" is truly an over simplification. What happened was that yes, there was a state actor working to undermine the pillars of the western countries. But you also had agents working out of their own volition, like Sartre and Foucault.

This isn't a new phenomenon - you guys just don't like the result this time. But you should be looking inward, rather than blaming everyone else.
Russia didn't force HRC to run on identity politics, name calling, ignoring the working class, or to not campaign in battleground states. She lost cause she had a horrible message, didn't speak to working class America, and ran as the 3rd term of Obama - which CLEARLY people don't want. This was a referendum on him as much as anything else. And I don't think Russia has been telling Obama what to do for the last 8 years, but who knows....

Disinformation is far and away one of the best books I have ever read.
Reagan called his book Red Horizons his "bible" for dealing with the Russians.

Actually, Soviet Russia (specifically the KGB) is the root force behind the terrorism we see the Islamic world inflicting on others today - which is an extension of what was fostered/taught back in the 70's/80's by the KGB to Islamic factions.
The USSR ramped up the use of terrorism and war by proxy by using Islam against America and its allies, especially Israel as a counterweight.
One of the best books I have read on the subject is written by the highest-ranking Soviet bloc intelligence official ever to defect to the West, Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa.

This is a great book by General Ion Pacepa, a very high level defector from the Eastern Bloc during the cold war - I recommend reading anything written by him. He was there and in the know.

I could have linked directly to the book but that would not provide much information. If you want to attack the authors, Rychlak and Pacepa, be my guest but be mindful of the role they played in exposing the plot behind the effort to paint Pope Pius XII as a dupe for the Nazis.
