I know Virtual Desktop has an option to run on windows bootup but I've never actually tried it. You're actually in the same position as me, I've a GTX 1080 with multiple Displayports but only one HDMI port which is for the Rift so I ordered a Displayport to HDMI adapter today off Amazon.
You can get a display port to hdmi adapter. You won’t notice any delay or image quality reduction. That way you can hook both monitors directly to your 2080.
https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter-Gold-Plated-Compatible/dp/B017Q8ZVWK
ah ok, then I would pick up an Display to HDMI adapter. This one from Amazon looks like it works with a Cintiq 16:
"Used this to connect a Wacom Cintiq 16 drawing pad to a desktop that has a Displayport connection with no HDMI input slots. Works great."
The 3910 should have both an HDMI port and a Display port. You don't wanna run video off of USB, that's just useless. All you need is a display port to HDMI adapter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK just plug that into the display port, then connect the 2nd monitor.
Just for reference, you can’t use monitor ports on your motherboard in conjunction with your gpu unless your cpu supports internal graphics. Go to your bios and set ‘internal graphics’ from disabled/auto to enabled. If your cpu doesn’t support it, then I suggest buying a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter for your second monitor.
I am guessing that the monitor that you connected to HDMI works but the one with the HDMI to DP cable is not?
This is more then likely the face that HDMI to DP cables are very hit and miss. So far for me, a cable has never worked but an adapter has.
Something like this is what I used to use with no issues.
Displayport to hdmi, you can find a convertor online easily.
I had bought this one: DisplayPort to HDMI, Benfei Gold-Plated DP Display Port to HDMI Adapter (Male to Female) Compatible for Lenovo Dell HP and Other Brand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_8TD5JGK7ZQDAZ0GSFW4S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
The signal is dropping when you try having both cables plugged in at once, or picture #1 is with both plugged and it drops the image when you enabled OTG mode?
What firmware is your ALP on? The released on 11/11 is v5.58 and had OTG breaking issues. v5.59 was released on 11/18 and fixed the issues.
You might want to get a DP->HDMI adapter to try. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/
DVI "should" work the issues you are describing is very odd. I have the same card DVI, HDMI, DP, but I haven't tried DVI off it at all. I've used the HDMI and as well as both a DP->HDMI and the DP Hub I linked earlier.
You can also buy display port converters cables like this.
DisplayPort to HDMI, Benfei Gold-Plated DP Display Port to HDMI Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_2WV0DTA4HSP5VNV4YGN5
Not sure if it’s any cheaper than just buying new display port cables. But if your monitor is limited on inputs this could be the answer you’re looking for.
(Also, as you have discovered, you cannot turn a single vga/dvi/hdmi/dp video output into multiple monitors in this way)
Seems odd, I run a similar setup and have two of these and they work perfectly. Mine doesn’t go through a KVM though, just directly to the monitors.
Ahh i see, in that case you can buy a usb to hdmi or other video output adapters, you need to install a driver typically to get them to work on your system but they should solve the problem for you. Theyre not to expensive.
1660's dont have VGA so you'll still need an adapter. And yes, VGA will give worse quality compared to a digital signal like HDMI, DP or DVI-D
> I don't want to buy DP cable along with adapter.
You're not getting it. You plug the displayport adapter into your GPU. That then gives you a HDMI port where you just plug your HDMI cable into.
https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter-Gold-Plated-Compatible/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/
How are you pretty sure of the model? It is clearly labeled on the front 🤣
But to answer your question, I use the following and then a hdmi cable of your choice.
DisplayPort to HDMI, Benfei Gold-Plated DP Display Port to HDMI Adapter (Male to Female) Compatible for Lenovo Dell HP and Other Brand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_29F8J1AB9X3QW5XW5MX9
Does the gpu have a display port two because if so just run and adapter from that to HDMI my gpu is like that I have 3 adapters and never had a problem something like the link I put adapter
Your motherboard supports DVI-D and DisplayPort, not HDMI. Don't worry though, you can buy adapters and I think this one will work based on what you've described: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_STE8Y25SBYMPFFSD6P3D?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You'll plug this into the desktop into one of the DP ports then you can plug the HDMI into it and your monitor.
Alternatively, if your monitor has DisplayPort connection you can just get a DisplayPort cable. Double alternatively, if your monitor has DVI connection then you can just get a DVI cable too.
Now I've bought something like [this](https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter-Gold-Plated-Compatible/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=usb+to+hdmi&qid=1622223751&sr=8-5 (not exactly this one) which should fix the problem, but I will know that tomorrow when I'll receive it.
Yeah that hdmi might be working but you're trying to use your dedicated graphics card and integrated graphics at the same time. Basically you can't do that without enabling it in the bios.
If you have a ryzen processor you most likely don't even have integrated graphics, but if you have an intel processor you do.
That "idk" port on your graphics card is a displayport. You can get display port to hdmi cables pretty cheap, or something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_0956JWDC1Z02QFEMW6HA, which would be your best solution.
All you need to do is get a display port to hdmi adapter. Or just buy a displayport to hdmi cord they sell them at Amazon. This will fix your problem. And will cost less than $10.00. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Q06J4TMPS4VVWWQVZSJ4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I dont know if any motherboards would have 3 hdmi. Though if you have GPU with at least 3 hdmi outputs or displayport, you could use that. Nearly all gpus would have these outputs. If you cant use the display ports, you can buy adapters for very cheap - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Displayport-Adapter-Benfei-Display-Converter/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=55973628714&dchild=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA4rGCBhAQEiwAelVti7unWFDyoiIDBQMilhWKN3JIGjQxN8RljLcQ_TNafrWZP87UEg0mzBoCxucQAvD_BwE&hvadid=25...
Get a usb to hdmi adapter. That might work for you. Here is a popular one on Amazon:
Limited-time deal: DisplayPort to HDMI, Benfei Gold-Plated DP Display Port to HDMI Adapter (Male to Female) Compatible for Lenovo Dell HP and Other Brand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_9N8J1S0TQCG4C9MJDEC0
Sorry I'm a bit confused, are you trying to plug an HDMI cable into a Display Port and need a dongle for that? If so here you go Amazon.com: DisplayPort to HDMI, Benfei Gold-Plated DP Display Port to HDMI Adapter (Male to Female) Compatible for Lenovo Dell HP and Other Brand: Electronics
You'll have to plug it into the GPU. If it's a modern card (at least Nvidia 10-series or AMD Rx-series), it probably has 1 HDMI port and 3 DP ports with maybe a DVI-D port. You can get an HDMI to DP adapter for like $10 as it sounds like you're using HDMI already.
Buy a Displayport to HDMI Adapter and you will be good. Connect the display port into the monitor and then plug the HDMI cable into the other side of the adapter. You would then plug the other side of the HDMI cable into the switch.
Just get a display port to HDMI converter
Displayport to HDMI Adapter, Benfei Dp(Display Port) Male to Hdmi Female Converter with Audio for Lenovo, Dell, HP, Asus and other brand(Dp to Hdmi) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-9urFbF10MPYP
Wow this is rather insane, I have been using this adapter with that monitor for 3 years going by the Amazon purchase date, I suppose I could open it up and see what the 20th pin looks like.
This sounds nuts but I would be willing to believe that an issue like this could be the whole reason I am seeing fucky behaviour, although my GTX 1070 has worked flawlessly for years with it so it's hard to point fingers at it.
The normal DP cable seems fine but yeah I could replace it with the one the monitor came with, this is just the one I was using with my old monitor.
In a similar vein, I haven’t tried it, but if your hdmi port is occupied and you have a free DisplayPort, you could alternatively try running one of these:
BENFEI DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Benfei DP Display Port to HDMI Converter Male to Female Gold-Plated Cord Compatible for Lenovo Dell HP and Other Brand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_AsPLDbATS6X6
DisplayPort carries audio, similar to hdmi (note that DVI does not), so I think it would would work.
Verwechselt du da nicht was?
Soweit ich weiß.
DP => HDMI -> günstig/via adapter
well i mean can i just use one of these if neither monitor supports dp DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, Benfei DP Display Port to HDMI Converter Male to Female Gold-Plated Cord Compatible for Lenovo Dell HP and Other Brand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_IFWfCbKMBRE6F
When you say an 'active' DP > HMDI adapter, what does the active bit mean? Will this work for example?
If all three monitors only support HDMI, you can get an HDMI to DP adapter.
The description of the adapter I purchased from Amazon states up to 1080p:
Displayport to HDMI Adapter, Benfei Dp(Display Port) Male to Hdmi Female Converter with Audio for Lenovo, Dell, HP, Asus and other brand(Dp to Hdmi) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FBtCzbH18W8KV
I only chose this one as it was in the related items section when purchasing the Rift.
I assumed all adapters would support same resolutions. I'll take another look.
As others have suggested, grab a displayport to HDMI adaptor. It's a small price to pay when you've already spent so much on the hardware.
I bought this one, seems fine so far. Worth noting that owning a Vive right now is not very cheap. VR games are priced highly due to the smaller audience and low-budget development teams.
All that aside, enjoy your new tech!

Whats the best way to get my Switch to display on my monitor? My monitor has VGA, DVI-D and DisplayPort ports.
I already tried a basic HDMI-to-DisplayPort adaptor this one but it doesn't work.
I had a same problem and connect Vive to HDMI, while projectors works with DP-HDMI adapter. So, I would suggest you first to try to connect your projector via displayport, using your cable - if it works, you'll need something like this: https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Adapter-Benfei-Converter-Gold-Plated/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1485072502&sr=1-4&keywords=displayport+to+hdmi+adapter and plug your long HDMI cable into it.
Shame there is no hdmi would be decent for the price. I wonder would a displayport to hdmi adapter be any good?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_3RRC2JGSRJAS0D8Z5A31
Does your graphics card have a DisplayPort? If so, get a HDMI to DP adapter. Like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_HTFMXX7FFS8WG3DXB1AM
In the 15 years i have been building computers and buying gpus iv never seen a graphics card with dual hdmi ports. just did a quick amazon search there was a 1060 6gb with 2 hdmi ports lol. i have a vive and had the same problem with my 980ti and my 2080ti i have like 3 of theses i got off amazon work amazing.
Exceeds the recommended specs for all existing VR headsets.
Any modern video card can handle at least three monitors. This video card has one HDMI port and three Displayports, so it can handle four monitors. You may need a $10 Displayport to HDMI adapter if both of your monitors only have HDMI ports. Every port on this video card can handle up to 4K resolution.

Best results for me are a DP to HDMI adapter.
This one has worked perfectly for me https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B017Q8ZVWK
“HDMI to DisplayPort adapter”
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_WBS87GCN13485566JCDR
Or get a displayport cable for your regular monitor
My local hardware store carries both directions for under $10 so maybe I'm just spoiled with that convenience.
But no. All adapters are going to be directional. You are probably best of with something like: https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter-Gold-Plated-Compatible/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/
As an adapter or something like: https://www.amazon.com/DisplayPort-Gold-Plated-Connectors-Display-Compatible/dp/B081GGNWCX/
As a single cable solution.
Unless I am misunderstanding your situation.

Would this work mate? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_NKD72JYAJKMNXJXQVT5N
I would recommend something like this from ebay or a site of this type that specialize in refurbished corporate stock.
I have one very close to this I got out a bin at work.

I stream my media from a NAS but this type of machine has a bay for an SSD and another for a HDD for your media storage.
It perfectly satisfies my needs. It might struggle at 4K but on my standard 1080p TV everything runs flawlessly.
Make sure it has the ports you need on the back before purchase. Some of these boxes have DP but no HDMI. You can get around that of course.

Check what other connectors are available on the monitors. You might be able to get away with plugging your laptop into the DisplayPort, DVI, VGA or maybe even a second HDMI socket (some monitors have 2). You might an additional adapter if your laptop only has HDMI,, e.g, Displayport to HDMI Adapter. You would plug this into the displayport socket on your monitor with an HDMI cable connected and then use button on the monitor to switch between desktop and laptop. You'd need one for each monitor of course.
You could also try an HDMI switch/HDMI splitter and extra HDMI cable, although you would need one for each monitor. This is an HDMI cable with box with 2 or more HDMI sockets on it and buttons to switch between them. You'd plug that into the monitor and plug your laptop and computer into it.
As an aside, these sort of questions are much easier to answer if you specify what model of laptop and monitors you have. People can then check the specs online and see what connections are available. If you know the make and model of your laptop and monitors I would add that to your post as it will help people give you more specific and accurate answers.
I bought that one: https://amazon.de/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/
Would one of these work?
Hdmi/display port adapter
Gotcha. Sounds like it might be using an incorrect resolution and/or refresh rate. Are they both the same resolution? Like 1920x1080 screens or is one 4k?
Sometimes lowering the resolution or trying an alternate resolution can quickly trouble shoot the issue.
If you only have 1 hdmi out you either have other ports that are display ports OR you have a weaker onboard video output.
Shoot a picture of your computer back panel/videoports and we can help you more.
I might have missed it but do you have a real video card? Or is it onboard graphics?
On a video card you might have display ports next to your hdmi ports - if so purchase a dp to hdmi dongle, or a cord that converts dp to hdmi.
If you just have onboard graphics look at getting an entry level video card or something. But let's try to solve it cheap/free first.
Dp to hdmi adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_qoB1FbKCTEMZR
Hdmi signal cloner https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LL1G4D1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_vmB1Fb1HGBDX0
You need to use an HDMI cable, which you could pick up at radio shack or circuit city if you don't wanna order one from amazon. If your card only has one HDMI port (I assume it does), and you wanna use a wmr/vr headset, you can use something like this adapter here: https://www.amazon.com/BENFEI-DisplayPort-Converter-Gold-Plated-Compatible/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

I think that is the one I use, and it works fine with my lenuvo explorer. I use a good quality HDMI 2.0b cable from amazon to connect to my tv directly from the HDMI slot on my gpu.
https://www.amazon.de/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HAuKFb7MRJ49Z?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I literally searched 2 Seconds and thats because of slow wifi.
Think I may have found the solution with this widget as there seems to be that socket next to the HDMI socket on the video card slots. Will send for it + try it out. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Displayport-Adapter-Benfei-Display-Converter/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=HDMI+adapter&qid=1599432177&sr=8-3
FYI - Displayport can be converted to HDMI/DVI with passive adapters:
A USB-C 3.2 port doesn't necessarily support display out (could be data only). Check your system's documentation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB-C#Alternate_Mode_partner_specifications
Thanks for the quick response
You will need a hdmi to display port adapter, amazon link to one with a standard hdmi cable, or a hdmi to dvi amazon link to that
would this work since it has a display port https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017Q8ZVWK/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_8eI4DbJ695B81
Just buy an HDMI to display port adapter, if it doesn't work on the VR headset use it on your monitor that's using an HDMI cable.

Yes, two LG ultrawides. One is 29" and the new one needing an adapter is 25"
