Although it has a 1995 date, it is hands-down the most complete book on the market:

I recommend George Nash:

At about 700 pages, it covers everything that will go into your addition, from the roof to the basement, and everything in between.

I picked up Do-It-Yourself Housebuilding: The Complete Handbook by George Nash and I haven't regretted it.
