You should try a bowl like this. http://www.amazon.com/Dogit-Slow-Anti-Gulping-Bowl-Medium/dp/B0038HLHJU. There's lots of brands, I'm not recommending this particular brand.
The 'speed bumps' inside force the dog to slow down because they can only get a few pieces of kibble per bite.
