~~You're right. I believe the rumor started because the website originally didn't list where the hats were made and so many knock off hats were and are being sold at rallies.~~
The hat in this post though is likely made in China.
Edit: Actually people had responded to that tweet with pictures of allegedly older official hats that say they're made in China, so I don't know...
This non MAGA but still official Trump hat is made in Bangladesh.
