Good on you mate! If you do return a drill brush will make your life a lot easier.
If you're not feeling like the elbow grease these work wonders
Different colors mean different things. Black is stiffer than red, red is stiffer than yellow, etc. i think white is the appropriate color for carpet, but i could be incorrect.
Here is the set I use (I have all the colors)
If you're talking about getting hair out of the fabric of furniture, I bought this drill attachment for my car seats (I have a dog) and it worked for me really well. I bought the yellow (medium) but apparently the gray (soft) is intended for furniture.
There are a lot on Amazon but the name brand is "drill brush" and I love it. You still have to bend over but it's a lot faster than scrubbing by hand.
Whatever you cleaner you use, use a drill brush. Your arms will thank you.
The first picture was what it looked like after I cleaned off a years+ of chalk, but otherwise nothing else.
The second was after I used wd-40 and one of these drill bushes. That got the bulk of it off in about 10 minutes. Then I just used some vinegar soaked paper towels (50/50 mix water and vinegar) that I wrapped around any remaining problem spots and left them for a few minutes before cleaning the rest off with more wd-40.
After that I wiped off the wd-40 and applied some food safe mineral oil to prevent future rust. (I wiped most of the mineral oil off, so the bar doesn't feel slick). With the thin layer of mineral oil, I haven't really had much rust since. Wd-40, or 3in1 works well too, but I prefer the food safe mineral oil for stuff I'll regularly come into contact with.
I'm pretty sure my husband is loving this – he's usually the clean one! I've been doing the dishes before he even gets a chance. I'm not happy with our carpet cleaner because our house doesn't smell clean enough, so I'm about to invest in a more industrial one. I got couple sets of IKEA Malm drawers for our master closet – it's ridiculously organized now. Threw a bunch of stuff out so we can combine our 2 spare bedrooms into one.
Also, these scrub brushes are one of the greatest inventions ever. My showers have never been cleaner.
Let me introduce you to this. Life changing.
I'm lazy so I often use these.
I had the same issue. Holding plates was the worst. I ended up getting a baby bottle scrubber from the dollar store, cutting the end off, and attached it to a power drill. Works great! Here is something similar on Amazon: [link]
Drill brush on Amazon. It's neat, they have them in the same stiffness but different colors so you don't mix your kitchen brush with your bathroom brush.
They are sets of brushes made specifically for those kinda things. There are different sizes and bristle depending on what you wanna use them for. Here is an example on amazon.
I bought a scrub brush set from amazon that fits in a power drill- less than $20 and totally worth it!
Bathroom Surfaces Tub, Shower, Tile and Grout All Purpose Power Scrubber Cleaning Kit [link]
Here’s a link! Honestly my grout was disgusting too and nothing worked on it. Plus bleach just made everything smell bad. These make it so I can use those nice smelling organic cleaners and my bathroom will still be sparkling.
I actually specifically bought a drill that came with brush attachments but they sell just the brushes online. Here’s one set of them. But they also have some for different jobs, like some made specifically for your car or for hard to reach places.
Toilet bowl cleaner with bleach on all of it, grout included. Leave it set, then scrub it away with magic erasers. The viscosity and potency of the toilet bowl cleaner will get a lot of that grime that’s caked on.
They also make drill attachments with scrub brushes like this that take a lot of the elbow grease out of a job like this
Have you seen those scrubbing attachments for handheld drills? Maybe that would help. [link]
We use these and they work pretty well. The flat one covers a good area
I love this tool for anything that requires scrubbing :

Amazon, it’s called the Drill Brush
Drillbrush Bathroom Surfaces Tub,... [link]
Definitely start with cleaning the grout. Cannot recommend this drill attachment set enough.
As far as keeping the hose near your mouth while at a desk, microphone stand. Works wonders. If you have a hose anything like HookahJohn Narbish or Nammor Hose, the handle fits perfectly into the microphone clip. Otherwise, there are different sized attachments for the stand you can get. I use the normal microphone clip with a hookahjohn hose.
Cleaning the HMD was tricky for a while, but what i do now is soak in hot water for like 20 minutes, then use barkeeper's friend (Ajax would probably work too) along with this attachment for my drill. Works like a charm
Also, you could put a piece of masking tape or something similar on the base before you empty it to mark the water level. Then refill and remove.
It’s just called “drill brush” haha…this one on Amazon! I used the flat one.
Or just spend $15 on the kit with a bunch of other useful attachments.
I just go to town with one of these.
Here's the same thing, same price,
Amazon ✔️prime $14.99
I use this to clean my plastic tub. Along with dawn heavily diluted in a spray bottle. Nothing stands a chance against it.
yep. a drill brush and a good cordless drill will save your arm
Attach this to a power drill, spray with your preferred bathroom cleaner, go at it. Saves time and frustration. I get the same thing in my shower.
I just purchased this exact solution (Brush set) for my shower, saved a ton of time and removed built up soap scum with ease. I used the equal part vinegar + dawn dish soap combo as my cleaner.
Color Chart for the different types of bristles they offer. Green and yellow are the same according to the site, the difference is to avoid using your bathroom brush in say the kitchen.
