I read Driving With the Devil a few years back. It goes over NASCAR's start and going from racing stocks to the evolution of late models.

I highly recommend it for any motorsports fan.

That my mom and her sisters used to count the money / gains from the numbers game that my uncle, a moonshine runner and coincidentally the first team owner in NASCAR, used to run.
