These are fine but if you're a cheap-o like me you can buy the desiccant by itself. You can find any kind of empty jug at home and poke holes in it and use that. I have an old protein tub full of the stuff with small holes drilled in it.
The Damp rid is not reusable and turns to a liquid. This is a better option. I use silica for other purposes, and found reusing old canisters like this to be hit or miss. Once the silica is saturated, it doesn’t work until you dry it out with heat, and with these things there’s no way to tell if they are saturated. You might be able to put these in the oven at 200 for an hour or so to make sure, but I’d be worried about the flimsy plastic giving off chemicals if I was then going to use them with food. I finally got a supply of beads from Amazon for $30 and keep a separate jar to hold the saturated until I’m ready to recharge a big batch. 5.5 lbs and the visual of the bead going from dark blue to pink means you never run out and always know if they are working. Put them in a sock and place in any enclosed space you want to keep dry. Good luck either way! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QGX2MFQ
