You can also get gas arms on a single pole. So the advantages of the pole is that the monitors sit more of the desk, meaning desk space under them is greater. The gas arms you picked means the space starts to decrease because of the angle of the arms.
I use this one, not perfect but works for me
Dual Arm Monitor Stand, Full... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077X9Z7MT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Of course! It's a Tokyo desk from Structube. So it's 28 inches deep. For the monitor arms I tried a couple different things and ended up on these: https://www.amazon.ca/Monitor-Adjustable-Grommet-Computer-Screens/dp/B077X9Z7MT/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=dual+monitor+arm&qid=1630590518&sr=8-8
The monitor in the centre is a PG279Q and the other is some throw away MSI that I've yet to replace.
I have the pole version of the dual arm mount collecting dust in my room.
I loved it. But unfortunately, the pole is skinnier than VIVO or Ergotron therefore I had to ditch it after I moved because I wasn't able to mix-match the gas struts.
If anyone wants it for free, feel free to let me know.
Long story: I wanted a white glossy pole, and VIVO sells one but it's significantly thicker than HUANUO therefore the HUANUO gas strut-arms couldn't open up enough to slide onto the VIVO pole. I ended up with a VIVO & Ergotron mix purely for the all-white aesthetics. The HUANUO arms are the best bang for the buck in my opinion, and I would even say they are easier to adjust than VIVO.

This is the one I bought on Amazon: HUANUO
I also have a 27” that I decided not to mount to the side vertically because I figured I didn’t want too much horizontal space and the extra real estate was not needed for me personally.

Okay I think 3rd times the charm lol hopefully this one is it
Sorry I thought no I had already replied. The mount is this dual mount Dual Arm Monitor Stand, Full... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077X9Z7MT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. But I inherited the vesa mount laptop tray though I think it's from a ergotron mount. I would be cautious about using just that as I had thermal issues with it resting a large portion of the intakes. Meant to design a solutionair flow but I never got around to it and eventually just built a desktop.
Looking to pick up a monitor mount to accomplish the same layout, anyone have experience with this?
Full rundown: -Fractal Meshify -MSI x470 -Ryzen 2600x -32gb G.Skill Flare X 3200Mhz -1070TI -EVGA coolers and power supply -27" Samsung CHG70 (new new!) -24" Dell S2417DG
I'm looking for a monitor mount recommendations that will allow me to have my ultrawide on the bottom, and my 24" on the top. I have a mount already, but it's basically just a pole with two monitor hookups, so if I want to angle the top one down, it ends up a bit behind the bottom one (not a dealbreaker but not ideal).
I want to be able to have the top monitor further forward so the bottom of the screen can line up with the top of the other monitor, despite being angled ~30 degrees down.
There are a lot of options on amazon for dual monitors but few have specific details about vertical mounting because it's less common.
Edit: After going through pretty much everything I can find on Amazon, I'm going to be trying this. There's someone in the reviews with a picture of it set up with 2x34" ultrawides so I have hope. I haven't ordered anything yet though so if you have insight please still let me know.
This is the mount I'm using. I have a 24" monitor vertically stacked. You can see the pic in my recent ascension thread.
I used to have the exact same problem. I ended up buying a gas powered dual monitor mount and I can adjust them exactly how I want. This is the one I got as it supported the most weight. https://smile.amazon.com/Monitor-Adjustable-Grommet-Computer-Screens/dp/B077X9Z7MT/
just some generic one off amazon

I've had a dual arm mount from this same company for about a year and a half and it's been flawless. Never lost tension or sagged.
It is one off of Amazon. I'm not sure if I can post links here, but this is it.
The monitor stand is $32 shipped on Amazon after $20 off coupon.

It is rated up to 2 32” monitor, but it handles my 34” ultra wide no problem.
These ones. They are great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077X9Z7MT

I've had that for about a year now and it's been really sturdy. Although I only have 24"s on it, but it does say it holds 32"s
Thanks! Are Amazon product links allowed? I'll post and assume someone will take them down if not...

Mount
I originally had this cheap dual monitor mount for my monitors after upgrading to larger curved displays I didn't like the way it looked and I couldn't push my desk all the wall. So I upgraded to two Jarvis single arm mounts that come from the sides instead of behind. It turned out awesome.
So, for the laptop, I wanted something that would be back from the desk and inline with the monitors but also low to the desktop. I tried and returned a few options. Nothing off the shelf really allows for having the arm further back but not off to the side. SO... long story longer... I got the idea to attach the original cheaper dual monitor mount upside down on my desk and flip the arm around. Then I bought a separate tray to sit the laptop on.
It turned out perfect! Here's a pic of what it looks like from behind.

Dock
The dock is the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Dock (230W/170W). Which I believe is the only dock that supports this laptop.
Looks pretty good, but I'm looking to clamp my stand to the back and hang two monitors from it. Idk if it will hold that or not.
Here's the stand I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077X9Z7MT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The left vertical and the top are on https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077X9Z7MT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mzNtFb71BSJW9
I would recommend using like this though
VIVO Extra Tall Single Monitor Desk Mount Stand with 39 inch Stand-up Pole, Fully Adjustable Extended Arm Fits 1 Screen up to 27 inches (STAND-V011) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BO42XK0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_70NtFbDKSN412
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B077X9Z7MT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_0BojFbHRC5TB0
My 34in is in horizontal and my 24 is vertical. I don't think it would fit if my 24 was horizontal. I think that's why they say 32in maximum. For me it fits perfectly.
I got it on Amazon actually:
Dual Arm Monitor Stand, Full Motion Adjustable Gas Spring Monitor Mount Riser with C Clamp/Grommet Base for Two 17 to 32 inch LCD Computer Screens, Each Arm Holds up to 17.6lbs
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077X9Z7MT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Here you go! It's a really tight fit with the 34" monitor though.
This is the mount that I'm using.
Dual Arm Monitor Stand, Full... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077X9Z7MT?ref=yo_pop_ma_share
It barely holds the ultrawide, but it works. I had to tighten the pivot arm as much as I could to prevent it from sagging.
This is the one I bought: Dual Arm Monitor Stand, Full... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077X9Z7MT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
There are lots of arms that can do that, like this one for instance.
