What is the gain on your antenna? Is is directional or omni? Something like this or this might improve your signal.

Instead of a Mofi, since they're expensive as heck, look into the GL.iNet X750 with the EP06-A modem. You can only get this from their website, otherwise amazon has a crappier model for the same price (although free prime shipping)
