Do you own or rent your place? Rent, add a shelf. Own, decide if you want to drill for the grommet or add a shelf. If the shelf of tall enough, you could add arms to that, but it doesn’t look like you have much room. You might just get a monitor mount with a desk pedestal that can support both monitors. Something like this, but verify the weight requirements for your monitors.
> I did try a grommet hole mount but I did not like that I had to place my wires behind the desk and not through the hole as it was covered with it.
Just drill another hole for the wires????? /s
In all seriousness, I personally don't trust those clampless monitor arms. If you're committed to them though, I did find this that should fit your use case.
Also, it would probably help to know exactly what Ikea desk you have.
Not sure if this is the exact one, but it’s very similar . It’s perfectly okay and it misses a lot of nicer features but it’s pretty sturdy and for like $30 it gets the job done.
I work from home regardless of quarantine or not. I have a company provided laptop and 2 monitors for a 3 screen set up.
The two monitors didn't fit on my desk so I bought one of these.
My desk is a 71" corner desk. I have my main/gaming PC monitor in the center slightly raised on a platform that came with the desk. On the left side of the desk is my secondary monitor. That side is kept clean for any work I need to do that requires paper.
On the right is my work setup. Work laptop with the 2 monitors above the laptop screen. People come in and ask if I'm a day trader. The room is an open room that's a small bedroom in the house next to us (it's a duplex). My wife and I both set our desks up in here.
Maybe with a Duel Monitor Stand like this one. Planning to stream or something?
I use this on my large IKEA desk because I didn't want to damage the top: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074K35TJZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It works nicely for someone who doesn't want to attach directly to the desktop!

Hello! I recently purchased these monitors. They haven't arrived yet, but I really didn't notice the VESA mounts on these. A C Clamp nor a Grommet mounting base won't work with my current desk, so I can only get a dual monitor stand. What do you mean by most monitors won't align to a dual monitor VESA stand? And would any of the two stands below work?
Thanks! It's my first time buying monitors on my own, I thought I already did enough research on this. :)
There are plenty of options from Amazon. Just search "dual vesa mount" and find one that supports up to 32" monitors.
Dual Monitor Stand, Free Standing Height Adjustable Two Arm Monitor Mount for Two 13 to 32 inch LCD Screens with Swivel and Tilt, 17.6lbs per Arm by HUANUO https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074K35TJZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_H.O9DbCEH2HWP
The MALM and LINNMON are hollow honeycomb cardboard sandwiched between painted wood veneers made from hardboard or pressboard. If you go this route you're going to want to reinforce the top edge and the back in an L shape. Something with a through-hole bolt of some kind so that you can utilize hardness on both sides of the skin. Another alternative would be a wall mount into a stud, a custom stand, or the stand the monitor(s) come with. I'd personally use the stock monitor stand, or one of these tabletop stands for multiple monitors. https://www.amazon.com/Monitor-Standing-Adjustable-Screens-HUANUO/dp/B074K35TJZ
I'm starting a two day a week on-site project at a client soon. I purchased a free-standing two monitor stand (as I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate me drilling a bracket into their desks):

My plan is to just use two external screens, which I will keep there until the contract is done. I'll probably actually disable output on the laptop altogether while it's attached to them. I would have liked my usual triple monitor setup, but I have still haven't found a USB-C to HDMI adapter that works with my operating system and think that might look a bit OTT.
BTW, most of the VESA stands let you swivel any of the clamp points vertically. On my home (desktop) triple monitor stand I have the far left screen in portrait orientation. I might do the same in my forthcoming setup. So I'd be working/focusing on the right screen and typing up a report / working on a spreadsheet on the left one.
I've been using this one for about 3 years now and love it: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074K35TJZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Note: This is not a clamping stand, but a base stand. I didn't like or trust the idea of a clamp stand.
