Just to dispel some misinformation. First off he's not too close. If he was doing any damage to the paint you'd see it immediately. Second, to a car this dirty or pretty much any car that's gone awhile without being cleaned, this is the safest thing for the paint you can do to clean it. You want to remove as much caked on dirt as you can with a power washer, then use a foam cannon (they're like $15 on amazon and worth every penny) to loosen the remaining dirt, after letting it emulsify for a couple minutes, spray it off AND THEN wash it with a mit.
It’s a “Foam Cannon” attached to my power washer. Chemical Guys sell several, but they didn’t get great reviews. Found one on Amazon much cheeper with decent reviews. P.S. - You still need to hand wash, but the pre-soak helps

This looks the same gun I use. Saw it in ChrisFix.

I saw a foam lance on the amazon daily deals today.
Note: Although the reviews are overwhelmingly good, some people appear to get bad units on occasion.
It's probably the same supplier as all the Amazon ones. I have this one and it's half the price. Been using it for 7 years with no problem. The key is to still buy the quality soap, I personally favor chemical guys

Ah, I see. The Ryobi foam blaster doesn't appear to be a typical foam cannon. They usually have an orifice and then a "mesh sponge" that the soap gets forced through to produce the foam.
I'd just recommend to get a cheap one off Amazon for 1/2 the price and call it a day. It works fine.
Can someone please tell me what I need to get my Dusichin to connect to my sun joe pressure washer?
Apparently others haven’t needed anything and it just works. Mine however doesn’t fit, it seems like it’s too small. I push it in and it doesn’t stay in.

$18 and seems to be as good as the MTM. Sure, the MTM might last 10 years instead of 5, but for under $20 I can nearly treat this as disposable. I'm just a weekend warrior, this was good enough in my book...
where can i get an adapter for a k2 to quick disconnect? i bought a new foam cannon off amazon and its a quick disconnect. I cannot find a karcher quick disconnect adapter. Do i need a different gun?
I just bought one on Amazon for $40..you need prime though. This is what i got and it works great. I also use it with a gas powered pressure washer.
The main goal of a touchless pre wash is to remove as much foreign contaminant as possible as to not scratch the paint once you begin the hand washing stage. A soap attachment creates thick suds which ideally encapsulate dirt and debris and drag it off of the car without scratching the paint thus reducing swirls and scratches once you get to the hand washing phase. One thing I will say is that cheap foam lances as opposed to an expensive one there isn’t much of a difference if any at all.

Something like this is essentially the exact same as the chemical guys here Chemical Guys HOL145 TORQ Foam Cannon Snow FOAMER & 3 Premium Soaps, 16. Fluid_Ounces https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071X6WFXL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_iWCqCbZ4HFA8J
Why DIY? Just buy this one off Amazon and call it a day: https://www.amazon.com/DUSICHIN-SFL-001-Pressure-Release-Adjustable/dp/B00WPKHFA6 It's under $20
It'll end up costing you more trying to DIY something.
I've been using this one for about 3 years now and it's worked great
I received my SPX3000 yesterday, although I haven't tried the soap nozzle and detergent function yet. But after seeing this, it definitely puts out a little bit of soap, but you certainly won't get this effect with it.
On another note, I really love this thing, it is a great upgrade from my AR Blue Clean 383. If you are going for the thicker foam effect like on that Maserati, then you should get this from Amazon. I just ordered one since my old lance isn't compatible with this new washer.
In summary, the built in soap feature is nice to have, but it isn't anything like using a foam lance or even a foam cannon like the Gilmour on a hose.
A foam cannon is the only way to go. I've had this el-cheapo one for 3 years and it's still going strong.
Nope you should be good. Here’s a couple links -

There are a bunch of different foam cannon soaps on Amazon. Pick one to your liking.
I am a hobbyist, but washing and detailing cars is my true passion. I have had the SunJoe SPX-3000 for about a year and love it! For under $150, it would be hard to beat, in my opinion. I bought this DUSICHIN SFL-001 Foam Cannon for $13 on Amazon over 3 years ago and have surprisingly been very pleased with its performance. I also bought a 1.1mm orifice to replace the one that came installed in the foam cannon and that alone has made a big difference in creating thick foam to help lift away dirt before you touch a mitt to your car’s paint. It also acts as a great lubricant to reduce the risk of creating swirls & scratches.
You can get all of that for around $165 (+ tax) and you should be very pleased with the results your investment produces! I haven’t had any issues either! Spend a little bit of money and you will be happy you did the first time you use them to wash your car and for years to come! Hope this helps!
I got this one from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WPKHFA6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share), works pretty well. Have it hooked up to my electric pressure washer.
Not sure if you are mobile or not, but if you are. The Greenworks 1600 PSI pressure washer works great for me. It's on Amazon for I believe $100 (I bought it at Lowe's for $85 on clearance). It fits my needs because its fairly small, easy to setup, and gets the job done. Not any crazy features, but for the price I paid, I am very happy. I also bought a cheap foam cannon for like $15. Fits right onto the end of the power washer too.
Amazon foam cannon that has worked well for me.
If you're using an electric pressure washer you'll have to add in a 1.1mm orifice
I use this with my SPX DUSICHIN SFL-001 Foam Cannon Snow Foam Lance Pressure Washer Jet Wash Quick Release Adjustable 1/4" Fitting Male https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WPKHFA6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jXYHFbNV569E9
I bought a $15 foam canon from Amazon last week. Along with some Chemical Guys Watermelon and was finally able to gas up the power washer and use it.
I'm fairly impressed tbh. I've had other foam canons before and they always turned out to be junk. This one, works REALLY well.
The Chemical Guys soap too was decent. First time using one of their products as well.
Is it the 1/4" snap coupling you're trying to fit it into like in the pictures on this listing
https://www.amazon.com/DUSICHIN-SFL-001-Pressure-Release-Adjustable/dp/B00WPKHFA6
?
Or do you have some sort of bayonet adaptor?
Thanks! and nah man, I'm definitely a rookie with cheap products. Someone else on reddit recommended this one and I went for it due to low cost:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WPKHFA6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For the price I couldn't have asked for better results.
I'm totally lost on how to connect a foam cannon to my pressure washer.
I ordered this a few days ago and I don't quite understand what I need to connect it to my pressure washer gun.
I have a ~~Craftsman~~ Husky/Honda GCV160 washer that came with attachments with the same little nub to attach it to the gun, but those don't seem to hold either, I'm going to guess I lost a part somewhere in my garage.
If this is model specific I can post pics/model numbers when I get home. Any help is appreciated! Thanks :)
EDIT: Here are some shots of the gun it came with.
