As I said above my vet said he looked like he was starving and he was ravenous but I just don't think he understands goldens. You can see the recommended feeding amount for his weight class is 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 cups a feeding which I thought was a lot. The breeder still recommends 2 cups max a day and sounds on point with what you are saying. Also looking at him he seems fit, I can just continue to monitor how he looks and adjust as I see fit with that chart.
