I also like to remind myself that punishing my body to work through 120kg/260lb of fat, even if I did, is asking a lot. This is one of the causes of cancers and other diseases, when we make the body work harder than it needs to.

A book I'd highly recommend giving him is Eat Bacon, Don't Jog. It really got through to my Dad, and it's not a major time commitment at all.
It's formatted into dozens of short, terrifically written essays, so he can just pick it up now and then and peruse. It's a great bathroom reader for that reason.
Easy to understand and very short chapters made this a winner for my 14 year old, she's down 25 pounds since Feb and loves eating keto and the results she's getting
