I have had this phone since July last year. I was in a similar position like yourself back then. At that time I was deciding between S4 or 1+1, but I think 1+1 was invite only then. So I went ahead with S4. Couldnt be more happier. Screen is amazing, decent battery life (around 11-12 hours on medium usage). AND if you root the phone then you can obviously get the latest Android via Cyanogen etc...

dude the batteries degrade overtime, shit happens to everyone using lithium-ion batteries
