Not sure where you live, but this is the largest collection of knowledge of First Nations people and all they knew regarding wild plants. Many of which have medicinal properties.

You may find it interesting and informative.
I have a copy that travels with me on my walkabouts.

I have this book, the tome of knowledge...
I have a book titled “edible and medicinal plants of Canada”. I suggest everyone gets one for their own region.

Buddy....life on this world exists in one consistent fashion. In order for something to live something else must die and be consumed, be it plant or animal. The natural order.

We have our aversions to harming other creatures and plants, but that is because we have a society which 'permits' this 'choice'. In truth...all that you eat has been slain (plant or animal, actually the green plants are still quite alive while being chewed...so listen for the screams right?) and placed upon your dinner plate.
So there's the basics you need to come to terms with as a resident of this world.

However, what you desire for knowledge can be obtained if you can get past your pointless aversions. (sounds cold, but if you boil it down...it is pointless, not meant as insulting)
This is the primary tome of knowledge I use for plants here.

This info is golden as Ive had many conversations on "How will we survive? What will we eat?" and I point at the forests and state, "I see food right there."

Then there are the practical guides to teach 'how to' stuff that most of us dont know.

In the end...survival is up to the individual. The skills learned need practice to become proficient with. Recognition of plants also requires practice and much reading. I read it daily when I 'sit in the mornings'. :) Now I can recognize many plants at a glance without the book and recall if they are useful/edible/poisonous.
You have the same potential "if you choose", but you have to alter how you think to get past the aversions.

Nothing lasts forever, including civilizations.
History shows where we are at in 'that'. :)
Learn bud!! Worst case you know a lot and never have to use it.
