Funny, I went back and looked at my original post, and I looked at it from the "sarcastic" point of view. Yes, that would have been interesting, and it made me laugh.
Again, thanks for having a friendly debate. Usually when someone hears something that doesn't fit their "views" they immediately dismiss what is being said. I guess that's why my post has already been down voted so many times.
I do have more thoughts. First, on how poorly schools are run, I recently read "Most Likely to Succeed". Basically, kids need to have a reason to go to school. We do not provide that. There is a movie coming out about it too. Here is the trailer:

Here is another great book to read: Education Myths by JP Greene (it has bad reviews on amazon, but only because those are teachers that don't want to hear something that is against their agenda).
Finally, yes, a good website that rates teachers is a good start. We have that for dentists, auto mechanics, etc. But more than that, we have word of mouth. As it stands now, I get a lot of younger brothers and sisters whose older siblings had me as a teacher. A few parents request me, and if they don't get me, they know how to work the system to make it happen. Basically, let the free market work. If teachers are not being requested, the school needs to work with that teacher to find out how to make them better. Administrators will have more time to do this because there will be fewer discipline problems, because the kids want to be at school, designing and creating and making connections. Not another test to take or worksheet to remember temporarily, until they have passed the next test.
One more thought...why do so many kids drop out of school. Because they are bored. Because teachers are bored. Because the state wants more tests. It is crazy stupid how poorly things are run right now.
The free market would change everything.
And to get even more down votes, I appreciate Trump selecting Betsy Devos as Ed Secretary. As this video shows, she is grossly mischaracterized.
