IT'S IN HERE! GIVE ME A FEW MINUTES AND I'LL DO YOU ONE EVEN BETTER!
Also, keep in mind this book uses UK terms.
I agree that $20 is too low. I'd at least start with the smallest as $25 at the least. Figure you can always go down in price if you find it's not selling but it's harder to go up. Also if you end up going to the flea market with them it gives you room to haggle.
Also I agree about the pattern - actually since they're all unique that probably adds to the appeal, maybe you could give a pattern for three of each element so that people can make their own, then show some examples of how they can combine. People love being given the tools to make something cute and personal. Patterns are really great sources of passive income. I made a pattern for something trendy (baby yoda when it first came out) and even though it was also free on my web site - and I stated that in the description on etsy - I sold about 1000 patterns in two months before Disney took it down.
Take a look at Edward's Crochet Imaginarium for a fun example of mix and match patterns.
> I'm notorious for wanting everything and having huge interests...but the second my birthday or Christmas are close by I blank on things I want causing people to get me random things.
I'm the same way, but what's helped a bit is all year long when these urges hit me I start adding things right then to an amazon wishlist. Then later when someone asks me what I want, boom I have a list of ideas I've been amassing over time.
Then I remember that, like, I wanted to try resin casting or something but didn't want to do the initial buy-in required. Or soap making or some funny monster crochet pattern book (check this thing out it's cute), or whatever other small things caught my eye but not enough for me to buy for myself.
so ! it's pretty inexpensive to get into, and projects are as expensive as the materials you put into them mainly-- i do almost entirely amigurumi (crochet animals) and i work in acrylic yarn. my project costs in yarn range from less 1 USD (because i don't use complete skeins for the little ones) to about 20 USD for Really Big beasties, or friends w/ lots of colorwork
for amigurimi, these are my supplies
of these, i would say the following are must haves to try it out to find if you like it
as for starter resources, here are my faves
oh also, here is a list of the crochet techniques you need to learn to do most ami
hope this helps, and good luck!
