You could remove the drives, connect them to another PC using one of these and see if the files can be seen. If so, pull your data. Another option is to create a Linux Live USB stick, boot to it and see if the drives are seen and the files are there. If so, pull the data.
Has anyone tried or anyone know, if connecting an internal hard drive with a SATA to USB adapter or a drive dock for can be used for USB storage of games?
I have an abundance of internal drives and would be able to pick up an adapter or dock a lot faster than I can buy an external hard drive.
Specifically referring to something along the lines of
SATA USB Adapter for the adapter method or,
SATA Hard Drive Docking Station for a dock
Am I correct in thinking the Wii U will still recognize and use a USB drive with an external power supply?
Thanks in advance for any information.
Ok that is not going to work you need external power
this is what you need.
Then you will need to get a SATA to USB adapter to connect the drive(s) to the PC and then you can wipe them. Then you can use them however you want.
As far as a SATA to USB adapter all you need is this. It will work with 3.5 and 2.5 inch HDDs'.
I've got this one and it works really well.
You could mount the laptop hard drive in your desktop, but you can't boot from that hard drive. The wiser way would be to purchase a SATA to USB adapter.
