- just being in this sub will bombard you with nuggets you can piece together as you go along
- as already pointed out: read item descriptions and pay attention to all dialogue in the game, even the ghosts.... (ESPECIALLY the ghosts - they give out good clues!)
- Spend $70 dollars in two hardcover books (check out book one here) and enjoy them
I'm very tempted to spend the money on them, but struggle because that's another full game I could buy...

According to the description from Amazon link, I don't see anything about Lore/Story being explained...
Just FYI, the Elden Ring Official Strategy Guide Vol 1 and Vol 2 are not the same thing as the Art Books. I say that because I really don't see the Art Books being sold on the US Amazon.
Both strategy guides are like encyclopedias of data/locations/items etc. while the Art Books purely contain concept art, character designs and general artwork from the game.
It is so cool that you know vatti ...I would not expect people who aren't too invested into the games to know him
