Here are a few things: 1. Cool mist humidifiers make your space clammy, and they push out a stream of “vapor”, which for you might work out bc you could point it towards yourself. They can breed bacteria, and the ones I have used all leaked all over my table, so beware. Whatever one you end up using, put it in a shallow bowl so that if it does leak, it doesn’t short circuit your computer. 2. If you get cold in your office, I suggest a warm mist humidifier. 2. If you have more space on your floor in your own office, I suggest the best reviewed humidifier listed below. It doesn’t mist which is nice, it has a UV filter to kill any bacteria (usually have to change out once a season, WELL worth it compared to the cool mist ones that break and you have to clean all the time). It also helps circulate air, and you can put tap water instead of distilled water. The other ones require distilled. (I still put Brita filtered water in mine). You could put in on the floor, next to your office plant or something. It has three settings as wel. I figure if you’re going to really get a humidifier, do it right. Sounds like the bridge is too low. The C string should be @8.5mm above the end of the fingerboard This time of year (the winter heating season) the cello shrinks so the bridge goes down. It is a good idea to keep the cello in a humidified environment and have a calibrated hygrometer to keep track of the humidity. Probably won’t change this, but it will protect your cello and make it happier. Here is an article on the topic. I have his hygrometer. BTW, most major violin dealers in NYC keep the humidity at 40% so that instrument don;t experience shock when they are taken out of the shop.

I’ve been using the Honeywell HCM 350 which has a very easy to clean tank and can run all night. Whoever one you end up choosing, the most important thing to keep in mind with humidifiers is consistent cleaning, at the very least once a week.

Well, I have an enormous console one, because the humidity in my apartment goes to about 33% without a humidifier running. It will happily humidify most of the place to 55% humidity with a fill every 24-36 hours (depending how dry I let it get before I refill it). It holds just shy of 5 gallons, I think, compared to the 1 gallon ultrasonic I used in the bedroom before I got this one, which needed to be filled about every 18 hours for one room. It has a side mounted container for water, so you don't have to shut it off to go fill it, and it holds about two containers worth (one flows down to the bottom with the wick, then you fill it again), so you don't have to haul 5 gallons from the sink to the humidifier.

The wicks are about $12-14 on amazon, depending what the price variation of the day is. It's really easy to install, it's only really noisy when the humidity is way below where it's set to (you can set it anywhere from 35 to 60% if I recall correctly, 50% is best of both worlds for protecting you from flu and mold), and honestly, you can set what the fan speed is at if you don't like auto.

I've been running this almost constantly since Christmas (there was a week that we turned it off 'cause I was trying to dry a bunch of sand), and I've replaced the wick once. I may not have had to replace it if I had emptied it out for that week, but I stupidly left it sitting in the wet chamber, so it got gross.

What type of exhaust do you have for the tent? I'm also growing in a 4x2 and I found I needed a 4" exhaust fan with an adjustable dial otherwise the fan was too powerful and I was just sucking all the humidity out.

You should really get some hygrometers to see what they're at. And throw your flowers into a glass jar with one and some type of hydration method if they're not at the right humidity.

Bringing your flower up to the right humidity is probably the most important step for best results.

I had this exact same problem, brother- I was using high ppm tap water in an ultra sonic humidifier. White mineral dust was coating everything and clogging up my carbon filter. You can switch to distilled water, as was mentioned. Or you can switch to an evaporative humidifier like this. This humidifier doesn't make dust. It uses a replaceable wick/filter which traps the minerals.

I'm really sensitive to dry air during the winter, so we've gone through a number of humidifiers. This is the one we currently have, and it is great. I have also noticed that it helps with my skin care routine as well as not having a sore throat when I wake up.

The auto shutoff function is great! I also run it while I'm at work, since it just turns itself off once it's out of water. I don't use the Vicks serum/liquid vaporizing feature, but I've heard people say that it's useful during cold season.

Whatever you choose, make sure to buy one with warm/hot steam, not cold mist. The cold mist humidifiers spritze the air above them with cool water. It definitely doesn't truly humidify anything. I've tried several of them with no luck. Also, they tend to over moisten the area right around the humidifier (since most of the "mist"/water spritz falls to the ground) and can subsequently cause mold.

Running a warm most humidifier has he added benefit of cutting down on heat costs -- depending on the setting, it can raise the temperature of your room up to 10F (low setting can prevent this). Also, they don't require filters or any added purchases.

You place them in a jar with your weed and it helps them to stay at the perfect moisture level. Prevents a harsh smoke and makes it burn slower.

I get them off Amazon, but they're about $20 for a ten pack. I usually get the 4-gram 62% packs (which can easily humidify up to a half oz).

You can also rehydrate your weed by putting it in a sealed jar with a small wad of wet paper towel for about 20 minutes, but it leaves a weird taste if you use tap water. Might work better if you use distilled water in that scenario.

We run two of these. Buy some 5 gallon jerry cans for water and fill them up at water stations. Take the time to check different water stations. There are ones where you can get 5 gallons for either $1.50, $1.75, or $1.00. You just gotta look.

Just get a humidifier like you would for your house. You don’t need to run it all the time, or at least I don’t. I run it later in the day and throughout the night to simulate their environment as they need it drier during the day and up to 100% at night. Pretty sure you can find em for like $25-30 at Walmart or on amazonthis is the one I use but there’s a bunch of lower priced ones. Just set it next to the gecks tank and you should be just fine. If you don’t wanna buy that, then I’d just mist 2 times a day, once at morning once at night, and again you should be fine if you’re using substrate it should hold humidity pretty well.

Levoit, all day every day I have the 6L, totally reliable, doesn't leak, various mist levels, hot or cold, auto shut off, timer, remote control, able to doffuse essential oils also if you wish. I've recommended it to several people now who had other makes that let them down/ broke or who just needed a first time purchase and not a single person I've recommended it to has regretted the purchase. It's slightly more expensive than some makes but imo is one of the best out there, and it's a large size so you don't have to refll it every 5 minutes. They're are smaller and cheaper Levitt models and I think they are a great brand for humidifiers but this model is the one I recommend and use myself. It's working pretty well. The humidistat on the humidifier and the AC 69 Controller do show about a 10% RH difference. It easily keeps up with the RH of the tent. Only downside is you do have to fill it with distilled water.

I had to look up what Grove packs are. They look pretty fancy and seem to control humidity for you the same way as humidity packs.

This is what I use. They are two way, so they will absorb/give off humidity to keep it at the right amount. Couple humidity packs in Mason jars is all I do. I keep a humidity monitor in one to make sure the humidity doesn't get too high or too low.

I can't say 100% for sure if your bags are the same or if using the humidity packs would make a difference. From my little bit of reading, I don't think the humidity packs would change anything.

The humidity packs are reusable BTW. They are not cheap but since they are two way and obsorb humidity, you can rehydrate them.

Boveda 62%, 8-gram size is typically what is recommended. I've used them and they helped a lot. They didn't quite get mine all the way flat so I have some 65% and 69% coming that will hopefully finish the job.

If your foils are cupped (concave while sitting face-up on a table) you need less moisture, and might need to go with a 58% or 49% to get them flat before storing with the 62%.

So this sort of curling (where the back is concave and the front is convex) is because the card was produced in an environment that was more humid than the one you are in. The opposite, where the environment it was produced in is less humid.

I currently own the Vornado Evap40, which has a pretty powerful upward-facing exhaust fan. I’m thinking of attaching some ducting to the humidifier’s fan, and running the ducting into my grow tent (with the humidifier being outside of the grow tent).

I bought a Levoit 1.6 gallon (I think) humidifier a few months ago to replace my tiny one. It was about $75 on Amazon. It is spaced for 1200 square feet but I don't think it is hitting my whole downstairs. It seems great so far. I use sink water and do see mineral buildup from my super hard water (19) but there is no way I am bringing home 2 gallons a day of distilled to fill it. weekly, I soak with discolored mineral areas vinegar with 15 minutes, and will spray certain bits down with 10% bleach water that seem slimy. It is a pain but something that needs to be done. (No-I don't mix vinegar and bleach-separate tasks)

The humidity sensor is easy to read and I keep it going at max humidity which gets my dry house to 50% humidity. I fill it once daily at max level. If I keep it at auto, i only have to fill it every 2 days. There are 2 models, one of which you can put aromatherapy oils in so if you want something like that then make sure you get the one that does that (I don't do that because it is overwhelming for dog noses to have all that scent in the air.).

The plants are doing great. I keep it near my one cluster of humidity loving plants and the brown crispy bits are stopped appearing on my calatheas, ti plants, and ferns. Actually the entirety of my plants downstairs are all looking better.

I've been using a cool humidifier for years. Specifically this one which looks like its been discontinued.
It uses less energy compared to ultrasonic and steam humidifiers.
But you have to buy replacement wicks and do a bit of maintenance on them. If you just leave them to constantly be soaked and using it 24/7, you'll end up growing mold on them in like a week.
What I do is have 2 or 3 wicks in rotation so I can let them dry out. I also wash them occasionally with vinegar(make sure you thoroughly rinse them out or they'll make your room smell like vinegar.
The other thing thing(with my model at least) is you can occasionally hear a gurgling sound when the water tank is feeding water. I don't mind because it only last a couple seconds, but just a heads up.

I use Boveda 62, size 8 (size 8 is good for 28g/1oz). Ideal humidity for bud is 62, you can find Boveda packs in just about any smoke shop and they have them on Amazon as well. (I ordered the ones in the picture here)

Also yes, I've been putting tap water in there and haven't really noticed a difference. When I lived in Springfield, my parents put tap water in their humidifier as well, and we never had an issue.

The annoying thing is you have to constantly buy new filters for it, and rotating the filter helps as well. So it just takes more effort, up to you if that's worth not having the white residue. Also, yeah I have no idea how people use distilled water for it, it uses gallons of water a day, so I just use tap water.

They are just slightly too big for the new Khiron rubs, but you can squeeze them in and in a few hours the bud tastes a lot better.

I ordered this back in September and I’m happy with it so far. I like the top fill option and I love the smart WiFi feature. This is handy as it’s sitting in my plant room and I don’t always know if it’s out of water but I get a notification on my phone. And if I’m away from home, I can still monitor the humidity levels and change the settings if needed.

get a large console humidifier and put it next to a return register, we did this for the first time a couple of years ago and it's made a huge difference.

Yeah basically, it's set it and forget it. The app will notify you if you using hard water and it needs a cleaning as well as when you need to refill it. Depending on your fan settings and your required humidity you'll have to play around with what will get you to your comfort zone. Personally I only have my fan on 5/10 because I'm not flowering right now and I only have to set the device to be 5% over my humidity zone. It will also very greatly depending on where your exhaust is vs where the humidifier is.

I've set mine next to my floor fan so it circulates evenly before it reaches the top of my tent and exhausted.

What is the set point for the humidity? Are you sure it's where it should be --about 50%? Is the humidifier running constantly? Also... the display on mine can show the setpoint or the current humidity. Read the instructions. Check that you are using it correctly.

I have an evaporative humidifier that works really well in my 1100 sf house. It's a big circular wick that sits upright with base in the water, and a fan that blows across it. Super simple.

If the house is down to 30% (about as low as it gets around here) it will take 12-24 hours to get it up to 55%, which is my preferred set point. After that, the amount of water needed and how much it runs depends on how much my gas forced air heat runs, along with the outside humidity. Butt it can maintain at 55%, no problem.

This is the one I have. I love it. I've had it about a year. Water uses varies from 1 to 2 tanks a day. The side refill on the tank is very handy. I lay it across the kitchen sink divider and counter to fill.

I had it running in a 1200 sqft condo and it has a 6 gallon capacity, which I had to refill nearly everyday to keep humidity around 45% in the winter.

I like this one because of the big tanks. Otherwise you will have to refill way too much. Even with 4 Gals I still have to fill them every other day.

I have This humidifier for my birds , I got it to help my bird who barbers her feathers, cause some more moisture can help them I’ve read. And it works super well for her ! And all my other birds seem to do well with the extra humidity also.

Our whole house humidifier is brand new, but still can’t keep up. We use evaporative humidifiers. I like these and own 3 of them. Last for about 5-7 days before refill (results may vary depending on your locations rH). Ability to fully control through WiFi (VeSync app), on/off and set traps to turn on and off when needed or as the space exceeds or is under the desired thresholds. Also the ability to turn off the lcd screen is nice.

Looking at the price, these go on sale for prime customers bar times. I paid at least 20$ less for my units.

Yeah - get this large one even if you live in a small apartment. It puts out about 6-7 L (1.5 gallons) of water into the air every 24 hours, and is controlled by a humidistat.

I do have a whole house humidifier (Aprilaire 600) but it is not tied to the thermostat. It is also the model without an external sensor. I use my large room humidifier instead most of the time (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WAC9VKQ) since I find the whole house humidifier dioesn't really bring up the humidity all that much.

I manually adjust the humidity level on the air care unit depending on outside temperature.

This thing is my rockstar. 4 gallon tank lasts about a day on full blast 24/7. Takes two wicks (replaceable). The main tank area separates completely for easy washing, but since it's evaporative and the fan runs long after the water is gone, it doesn't stay moist, so we haven't needed to clean it yet. The only downside is that the dual tanks are awkward to get under the bathroom sink faucet, but we have a little sprayer that attached to the toilet (for rinsing cloth diapers) and that works perfectly for filling it up.

It doesn’t seem to work very well. Plus the fog just goes straight down to the floor and makes the floor wet unless I put my ceiling fan on high.

Just like that other commentor suggested, I run an evaporative aircare. It's supposed to work for a much larger home, but I use it for a 1,400sqft. I'm generally able to get close to 40% humidity with it running 24/7. It holds 6 gallons and I fill it once a day. My sink sprayer reaches over the edge enough to just let it fill, otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.

I recently bought this 'Levoit' and it's total shit. The build quality is just okay and the tank feels like it's held together with glue. I've had it on full-blast for days and it barely hovers about 30% humidity. Beware the bullshit 'amazon's choice' is my advice.

I used to use this humidifier. The only reason was because I already had it around the house. I had to group the plants kind of close since the vapor stream was kind of small, but since I didn't have a ton of plants, it worked for me. My calathea zebrina was totally fine using this, so if you're looking for a more budget-palatable option, might be worth taking a look at!

The exact models look like they’re out of stock on Amazon, but this is what I run in the bedrooms (one per bedroom) and this is the larger one that I run for the downstairs living area. Both models are Honeywell, and I’ve had them for six years now- worth the investment. :) I only use distilled water in them, which seems to help make the filters last longer.

Not sure if I'm too late or anything, but we had gotten some humidifiers that left the white film everywhere no matter what we did.
