If you eat decent and normally take vitamins you wont need any for a couple day fast. Your internal stores can easily handle a short fast. Electrolytes can make it easier but that's all you might need. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXDAHIB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the stuff that solved my own overheated pukey working out in Texas situation. Salt alone wasn’t enough for me, but the fruity sweetened drinks upset my stomach. It doesn’t taste great, but it’s really effective.
Anything that isn’t flavored would be your best bet. Core hydration, essentia, etc.
Those don’t have a lot of electrolytes, but they’re just fine for fasts that don’t last longer than a few days. Longer than that and you’d be better off with some actual fasting supplements rather than special water. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Electrolyte-Supplement-Hydration-Potassium-Magnesium/dp/B01MXDAHIB/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=9DERLGIX8O05&keywords=water+fasting+supplements&qid=1652739281&sprefix=water+fasting%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-1-spons&ps...
This one comes in a plastic bottle but is drops, so it is much smaller and lasts far longer, so there’s less waste. My partner found this when I got diagnosed and I use it religiously - 1 dose is 12 drops, but I do 24 per day (in 2 separate servings of water). It has a slight mineral taste, so I put it in water with lemon, but any drink you enjoy (herbal tea, etc.) works great. Don’t select the low sodium, since POTSies need more than most folks. Hope this helps!

It looks fine, I personally use this because it’s a liquid mix and I don’t have to mix and wait for a powder to dissolve
Electrolyte Supplement for Immune Support and Rapid Hydration | NO Calories NO Sugar | 20%+ More Potassium, Magnesium & Zinc | 48 Servings https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXDAHIB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_85Q6C2WY00SM4DP7FPWB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use Hi-Lyte while fasting and its made my long fasts MUCH smoother. (actually using it now for a qwik water-fast for my vaccine). Easy to use and the water is still very drinkable.
This liquid electrolyte solutions has saved me from going to the ER for an IV. Highly recommend having one of these bottles on hand for when you’re on a clear liquid diet. I personally hate Gatorade and can’t tolerate the sugar content so I use this stuff. Then you can add whatever you want like a little lemon juice and squeeze of maple syrup - whatever you can tolerate. It’s very salty! 😁 Electrolyte Supplement for Immune... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXDAHIB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Get a pack of three as it’s much cheaper that way
If you live in USA, I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXDAHIB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I had it from when i was doing intemittent fasting a few months ago. It works pretty well. There are some cheaper ones out there but that one was recommended to me on the IMF subreddit.
Look into electrolyte supplements. Here's one on Amazon. Your local health food store will have them too. Put like half a teaspoon in 20oz of water and you get waay more electrolytes for your buck and no sugar. It's flavorless too but if you want flavor you could of course just put it in a sports drink too.
I've just started showing the tell-tale signs of perimenopause. Had a hysterectomy in my early thirties, so I'm not surprised it's kicking off a bit earlier than average, at 41.
I few months ago, I was a wreck. Experiencing rage, couldn't focus, short-term memory struggles, and generally feeling gross, bloated, and weird all the time.
I decided to try natural solutions before I pursue medical treatment.
So far, I...
The most important part is to practice self-kindness and understand that this is part of the journey of womanhood. I've been quiet on the matter since I work from home, but part of me wants to explain to my boss what's going on, so he can understand if I'm a little slow to get things done sometimes. I shouldn't be afraid to speak up!
It's disgusting how menopause is still viewed as a joke and is still so largely stigmatized. You don't lose your personhood when you become a mature woman. You can still be vital, sexy, and the captain of your own life. For as much as we focus on acceptance, inclusivity, and tolerance in our culture, we still marginalize and ignore women over forty.
Tell your mom good luck. You're a really awesome kid for wanting to help her out.
You need electrolytes. You can get a pre-mix like Hi-Lyte. Also do a search for 'Snake Juice' to mix some up a home. I use the drops and just mix them into my water.

Would be better if you used Hi-Lyte. I've done 31 day water-fasts that were easier than weeks using this formulation. Not great taste (mild salt) but you'll feel better while fasting.

Add this to your drinks. You may have a decreased ability to retain water and need electrolytes. Or low iron, or low vitamin c.
If this doesn’t help see a doctor.
the only difference between fasting for "health" and fasting because you have an ED is electrolytes. ya need em, and they have no calories so there's no reason not to take them! pop some drops of a liquid electrolyte supplement in your water if you're going to be fasting - your life literally depends on it!
You need an Electrolyte Supplement.

This stuff can be squeezed into any water you drink like Mio. It provides Potassium, Magnesium, and Sodium, and does NOT break your fast.
I work out constantly when I'm in a fasted state. My job is very intensive and I'm sweating during the whole 8 hours. I do my morning workout AND my job in a fasted state, I eat late at night around 9pm.
I get lightheaded and dizzy too, but one drink with my electrolytes and I feel completely normal again.
I used this when I went backpacking a few weeks ago to avoid dehydration. I recommend it. Electrolyte Concentrate for Rapid Rehydration | NO Calories NO Sugar | 48 Servings | Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium & Zinc | 100% Guaranteed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXDAHIB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_uDRtBbKFREYZT
I’ve been using HiLyte in my water bottle for the gym for the last few months, and I definitely feel like it’s been helping with my muscle cramps and dehydration headaches when I go too hard! amazon link
Someone in another thread recommended This stuff to keep hydrated to the same effect as pedialyte! I haven't tried it but I'm gonna use it for every other camelback fillup and see how that works for me
I agree on water. I drink over a gallon a day! That and salts really helped me out.
I am curious how much electrolytes I should be taking in. Any feedback?
I have these from amazon: Hi-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXDAHIB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_OssZzbHG89CVZ
Smart Water will work. I bought this https://www.amazon.com/Hi-Lyte-Electrolyte-Concentrate-Rehydration-Additives/dp/B01MXDAHIB/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1500565581&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=electrolytes&th=1 and it works well. It has 48 servings and each "serving" is 32oz of water so it's fairlycost-effective
I use hilyte in everything, water, ketorade, diet cola, literally anything I drink I out this bad boy in for easy electrolytes. Some say it tastes a bit salty the only time that's happened with me is when I was over zealous pouring it in my water
That's exactly why I could never sleep! All the leg cramping from old injuries. I was so exhausted but simply could not pass out. By the time I quit it had been around 36+ hours without sleep.
Since then, my friends on the keto train turned me on to hi-lyte which I've been using this time around (in addition to Himalayan pink salt). I'll give you my review once I know my leg cramps and restless nights fail to return. fingers crossed
I use Hi-Lyte. Electrolytes are Sodium, Potassium and Magnesium. They dont have calories.

You're in the beginning when it HARD. Make sure you take electrolytes. They REALLY help. I'm on Day 13/14 using Hi-Lyte and feel pretty good. If you've never done an extended fast the first couple are BRUTAL. You might want to consider 2 weeks then waiting a couple months then trying a 21 or 30 if you've never fasted that long. Either way Good Luck!!

I ordered this today to give it a try. I ordered a single bottle first in case it doesn't work for me.
Pre-mixed Hi-Lyte works fine for me. I've done 31 days fasts with it that were FAR easier than shorter fasts. Easy - Just add drops to water. Done. - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXDAHIB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hello, everyone! Beginner here, have 45 pounds to lose, and I have questions. Thank you in advance for any insight you might have to offer!
Should every single meal or snack follow the keto fat/protein/carb ratio or is it cumulative for the day? Some of my individual meals aren't "keto" in that they have more protein than fat. Does that matter if at the end of the day, I've still consumed more fat than protein? What is the minimum percentage of fat I should consume in order for my diet to still be keto? I know my calculator-suggested amount, but I've also read that fat is a limit, not a rule. My appetite's been fluctuating and lately, it's been small, so I would like to know how to navigate days like these without undermining ketosis or having to force myself to eat.
Electrolytes. I bought this supplement from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Electrolyte-Supplement-Hydration-Potassium-Magnesium/dp/B01MXDAHIB/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2Z589YB8QCH5T&dchild=1&keywords=hylite+electrolytes+liquid&qid=1598632743&sprefix=hylite%2Caps%2C245&sr=8-5 In a typical day, I have two servings with my water, plus I take 400mg of Magnesium. So I end up with a daily intake of 300mg of Potassium, 490mg of Magnesium, and 250mg sodium (plus the salt I put on my food which I don't measure). Is this enough or do I need to supplement more? I've seen conflicting numbers so I'm lost. Also, the ketoade recipes I've found vary in their number of minerals, so it's difficult to know which one is actually good. More importantly, I'm almost certain I'd forget to sip it throughout the day and since I can't gulp it, it would end up going to waste. I need something quick and easy.
Bowel movements. For the last few days, I've had something close to diarrhea but not the runs. Just very, very soft and shapeless (apologies) like the poop emoji. Is this normal? I read that constipation is much more common.
Thanks again for reading and I hope everyone is successful in their goals. :)
Hi Lyfe electrolytes work good. Taste much better than some alternatives.
Electrolyte Supplement for Rapid... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MXDAHIB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Thanks!
I am pretty sure it was allergies. I took Claritin for the first time in my life. I moved for the first time in my life and I think I was just getting used to a new Spring. I took Claritin right after the last day of my journal entry and that made me feel better. I am not allergic to things, usually. But I am not a perfect person and I think my body was just getting used to the new area. I am already back to feeling great.
I don't normally go back and read things I write. Thanks for replying so I could later.

I love this stuff. No calories or carbs.
I agree completely! I started adding Hi Lyte to my water in the morning and changed my personality for the better.

I'm using Hi-Lyte for my electrolytes and I've never had such a easy fasting experience. Every 32 oz of Zero Water I add 48 drops (1/2 tsp).
Another option... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXDAHIB/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Got this for my wife as she hates sugary drinks.
I like this stuff! No weird dyes or chemicals. :)
Hello! I use a supplement called Hi Lyte, you put 8-12 drops in your water. https://www.amazon.com/Hi-Lyte-Electrolyte-Concentrate-for-Rapid-Rehydration-NO-Calories-Sugar-or-Additives-48-Serving/dp/B01MXDAHIB/ref=dp_csx_sw_image_3#
I also take magnesium and fiber in pill form as well
I love this fiber supplement : https://store.t-tapp.com/products/fibertox?variant=6392401476
That comes in handy if you have a week where you aren't able to get in a lot of fiber rich veggies.
I've been tempted to cheat, lol, I understand! If you ever need support there I'd be happy to offer support.
it was hard for me especially when I was on vacation! However, for the first time in my life I've decided against cheating completely.
It's been so freeing.
I have this mantra, I think about what it took to get my body into Ketosis-when I start eyeing some nummy pastries, and I tell myself a cheat day could knock me right out of it and then I'd have to get myself back to ketosis. Once I think it through the craving passes, and it feels so good to win that little battle.
I have found lots of great recipes for bread, cracker, and pastry substitutes that really help me through and they are pretty good. Let me know if you'd like me to send you links to recipes.
Cheers!

This is a good electrolyte mix that you can just add several drops to your water throughout the day. It helped a lot when I was doing keto, especially during the "keto flu" stage.
Your body isn't absorbing water properly. I'm 90% sure you're running low on electrolytes. I had the same problem. This fixed it.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXDAHIB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You were detoxing and sounds like your electrolytes are too low. I'm on day 9 of my current water fast and I've been drinking Zero Water mixed with Hi-Lyte. Never had a fast go this smooth (I'm at the "I dont never need to eat again" feel-good stage).

If you are really toxic and you go on a fast there is a good chance that you will experience something known as a "Healing Crisis", which is when there are so many toxins being released through your body that you develop "Sickness-Like Symptoms".
Your body has 7 organs that are designed to eliminate toxins, (Colon, Liver, Kidneys, Lungs, Blood, Lymphatic System, and Skin.) and when massive amounts of toxins are being eliminated from the body these 7 organs are going to be working a lot harder than normal, and when this happens the following things can occur...
You have to use the bathroom a lot more than normal.
You get really bad breath and body odor.
You develop skin eruptions such as rashes, acne, and itching.
You go through intense mood swings and feel more irritable.
You feel old injuries start to flare up and start hurting again.
You start thinking about bad memories that you have been suppressing for years.
You feel weak and tired and want to stay in bed.
You start losing weight.
You feel cold in your hands and feet.
You develop flu-like symptoms such as a runny nose, cough, fever, diarrhea, and vomiting.
You develop a temporary white coating on your tongue.
You feel dizzy upon standing up.
You see mental images of unhealthy foods and can't stop thinking about them.
These symptoms may give you the impression that something is wrong, but in most cases they are actually a sign that the fast is working. (Your body is "cleaning house" and these symptoms will pass once the detox is over.)
