$156.82 on Amazon
There's a comparison chart of the different Elgatos down farther on that page. You could save a little less than $40 by not getting the HD60, but then you wouldn't get get 60 FPS recording, and this game looks stunning in full 60 FPS, so just save up a little more and get the HD60.
It will record anything that can feed it video via an HDMI cable, so it works with all current systems, and anything else you have that outputs HDMI.
It could even be made to work with adapters from other interfaces to HDMI, I'm pretty sure although you'd need get the audio stream in their separately if you cared about having it. But I'm digressing.
It's seems to be pretty much standard for everyone to use these, and considering their capabilities and ease of use, the price is excellent.
Here's a thread I made a while back that has some additional info on people's recording setups.
By getting an elgato game capture device. Here’s one from amazon it’s not really ideal let’s be honest. It’s $160 to play your switch on your pc. Unless you’re trying to record for YouTube or stream on twitch it’s not worth it, but it’s an option.
Oh it's 100% possible.. There's this thing that you use to record any external devices that has HDMI output called Elgato Game Capture HD60. It's probably the EASIEST method to do the thing that you want.
If you can find other alternative device, sure you can use it. I just referenced that specific device for reference but you can choose whatever you want.
Most youtubers use the elgato HD60 to record their content. It's small lightweight and easy to use! It's over $200 on Amazon but could easily drop below that for a sale. https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Game-Capture-HD60-Playstation/dp/B00MIQ40JQ?th=1&psc=1
Ok so if you want good quality I'd say get yourself the following
A decent computer
A capture card I use this one
A decent mic
A webcam (optional) <<seriously there's plenty of people that can be entertaining without a facecam
As for software the El Gato HD60 comes with capturing software that works perfectly but you could also use OBS for capturing or streaming live.
No doubt about it: you picked the right one. It is better in every way haha. Notably it has a much better processor and a better GPU. The GPU itself is worth the difference in price. Look up prices for the Radeon RX 570 (the GPU in your new system) and you'll see what I mean.
Additionally, you can upgrade the processor at some point if you want. AMD has said that they plan on using the AM4 socket until 2020 which will include the release of two new processor architectures. However, you won't need to upgrade in that time. The Ryzen 1400 is a good processor and will last you a long time.
They both have the same amount of RAM so don't worry about that. TBH if you weren't streaming, your system would be good as-is. However, streaming can be fairly resource intensive. You should try using the stock system, it might be sufficient. But if it's too laggy, even after dropping settings, you will probably have to upgrade.
Another alternative is to use a separate computer dedicated to streaming. You would need a capture card (this is a popular choice) so you'd still be spending a chunk of change. But using a separate computer does have its benefits, and you could also use the capture card to stream console games.
You'll need one only for console streaming. An elgato is $150.
https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-Nintendo-gameplay/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
They have different ones. Do HD60Pro if you're tech savy. (Requires you to open up your PC and put it in the PCI-E slot) Do HD60 if you're not tech savy. (USB)
Easiest way is getting an external capture card, and camera. There are some made specifically for this sort of thing... My recommendation: Elgato Game Capture HD60, Full HD 1080p 60fps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_8y32zb4QTZJSX
well there is no such thing as an internal capture card (unless you count pci) so for console games you would need something like this and for pc games just use like obs or something
I have a capture card that I use with my PS4: The Elgato HD60. I'm an adult with disposable income so the price wasn't a big deal for me(especially considering how often I use it), but that may not be the case for those with differing financial situations. It's pretty good for what it does, but it also has a number of drawbacks. I won't get into those here, but if you're seriously interested, I'd recommend reading up on it and other capture cards before making a decision.
What is your budget? The Elgato HD60 is $151.99 on Amazon right now. Link
The only other one I know of is the oldest one which can't do 1080p 60fps. That one is $150.99 for some reason. That's odd. I would have expected it to be much cheaper. You might be able to find a good price on a used one but I'm not sure if you would want a used one. I'm trying to lookup some alternatives but they're all pretty much in the same ball park.
The Elgato Game Capture HD60 (~$157 USD) may work for you...
I honestly didn't even know this was possible. I looked it up and yeah apparently some people have modded their gamepad to hold an external card. I personally just use an elgato capture card but I know this can be a pricey choice for some people.
I've been THIS close to getting one multiple times now ... Found the Elgato HD60 for a semi reasonable price ... Any opinions on this card? Can it steam live as well as record? Elgato Game Capture HD60, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360, or Wii U gameplay, Full HD 1080p 60fps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_Vt6xwbRBJZ67E
/u/The_Wispy Amazon has the El Gato 60HD for a little less than normal, if that's something you'd want.
A friend plays on PS4 and streams but wants to do it through a PC instead of the PS4. So it will be a PS4 into a Capture card into a PC.
Sure, I use the Elgato HD60 when I stream from my Wii U. It works great paired with OBS. It does cost around ~$150 however. Here it is on Amazon for your reference:
The old Elgato Game capture (not 60) can do thinks with Composite cables like the gamecube.
UK: Elgato Game Capture HD60 on Amazon UK lightning deal for £99!
Canada: 100% claimed - Elgato Game Capture HD on sale for CDN$ 129.99 on Amazon Canada
(Disclosure: I work for Elgato Gaming)
Oh, whoops. I thought what you posted was what you planned on upgrading to. Yeah, I do a bunch of recording for a channel of mine, and the elgato lets me record PC footage with almost no performance impact. For the GPU, I second the GTX 970. Nvidia is also known to require less CPU usage in games, so that should make up for any marginal CPU usage that the elgato would take up, and a little more.
A capture card is the easiest and most efficient way of doing this without having to take up tons of space on your XBone's HD. Here's a link to the one of the better capture cards on the market - http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-gameplay-1080p60/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1430261698&sr=8-2&keywords=elgato
Anything with an HDMI, except the PS3, because it has HDCP , I believe. On the PS4, you can turn off the HDCP, but won't be able to use Blurays or Netflix and other streaming things. Just toggle it back on to use those other features. $170 http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Game-Capture-HD60/dp/B00MIQ40JQ
It's possible to capture clean output from your D750, but I wouldn't recommend it for the length of capture time you want to do. If you do want to go to this route, you'll need a capture device like the Elgato Capture HD60 to capture the video on the laptop.
Be aware though, your D750's sensor may overheat during extended periods of live view, causing the camera to shut off live view. You'll also most likely need an AC adapter, as I'd expect 1 hour of live view to quickly drain the battery.
If I were you, I would just get a cheap camcorder, which can record for the length you want.
Yeah I’d get a capture card. I’m no expert, but this seems to get good reviews and is capable of recording 1080p at 60fps. https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-Nintendo-gameplay/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1528922809&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=game+capture+hd60.

8 core CPU which is great at streaming and the high multi core speed and single core turbo speed make it optimal for both productivity and gaming.
New X470 Motherboard which guarantees you won’t need a bios update, and it supports StoreMI technology which virtually combines your hard drive and SSD in windows to speed your hard drive up greatly. If you plan on using this, I’d actually buy a cheap 120gb SSD for Windows and keep the nice 500gb one for StoreMI.
16gb of fast ram which will be fine for simoltabeously gaming, streaming, having chrome open, managing OBS, whatever. Mobo does have 2 extra slots in case you want to upgrade in a few years.
For storage I included a 500gb SSD for games and OS (if you don’t want to take advantage of StoreMI) and a 2tb hard drive for other games/media.
GPU is a top of the line Nvidia GPU. Should be able to push 144fps on ultra settings at 1080p for most older and current games, maybe turning down to high in 2-3 years.
Case is pretty basic looking but it matches the black/red color scheme and is really good about cable management and has a nice clean look. You could also add red LED fans if you wanted or, if you like RGB better, you could go with the white version and add some RGB fans and stuff (I could draft another build if you want that option, would be really easy. No performance increase/decrease but it would probably be $75-$250 or so more, depending on I you just want fans or other components like ram and CPU cooler to light up as well.)
PSU is pretty basic but it’s strong enough to support overlcocking it CPU/GPU/ram, and has a good efficiency rating plus, as a bonus, it’s modular for convenience (cables separate from PSU, can make building a bit easier.) Also, side note, unless you do it to an extreme, overclocking is bad for the components and it won’t decrease the longevity that much more than normal use. It’ll help you get more out of your PC, but isn’t necessary by any means. GPU already has a factory overclock anyway, so its really CPU sand RAM you’d overclock.
Hope this helps! Any other questions just ask!
There are a million tutorials online with the general outline but if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
Speaking generally though you will need two things to stream from the switch.
You will need a Capture card device of some kind. Elgato is probably the most popular brand with something like the HD60 being really plug and play. Its pricey but it works really well. There are other alternatives but support for them may be limited and some of cheaper only support recording and not streaming so do your research
After you have the capture card you will need a PC of some kind to run the streaming software. OBS or Xsplit being the most popular choices.
The older HD60 Elgato devices have a jack for your headsets. For both getting audio over headsets and recording it.
Is this just the regular HD60, or is it a Pro or S? Amazon currently has the regular HD60 for ~146 https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-Nintendo-gameplay/dp/B00MIQ40JQ, with a refurb for like 135

Since you are playing on your PS4 that means you need a way of capturing your Video+Audio Signal.
I do know a couple of Capture Cards but I cant give you certain infromation which is the best.
Those are a couple that I know and are used by other people but I have no personal experience with it.
There are obviously even more Capture Cards for way more money.
You probably want to look at the Elgato HD 60
You definitely need a capture card.

That's the way it ought to be rigged up. If you can't afford a capture card, see me in DMs and we can talk about r/sf local sponsorships.
Not too familiar with this but just throwing this out there...can you use a capture card? For example:
EDIT: or one with "Instant Gameview"
CeeJay! Big fan, thanks for the feedback (hey, great work on that Beta Montage last month). That is some great insight into the community as a whole.
You're absolutley right that it's a niche game. I'm not in it for popularity or money, just because I really enjoy playing gears and making videos.
In terms of what I work with let me list out the specs
CPU: AMDFX 8350 Eight-Core Processor
GPU: GTX 960
Memory: 8.0 GM RAM
I record with an elgato HD60 for gameplay, and a Cannon Vixia HF R62 for webcam. I edit on Sony Vegas Pro 12. I've been trying to teach myself Adobe Premier but it's been slow going. I also use photoshop for my graphics.
In terms of what I would need help with, mostly it would be things such as an intro, outro (so I can put links to previous videos, subscribe options, that sort of thing), and a nice webcam overlay.
Thanks so much for your feedback it's been really helpful!
The game you play should really be entirely your own choice. What genre do you feel you would be able to riff off of best? Maybe a story based game? Or a horror game? Play through a few different sections of various genres and see to which the commentary comes most naturally.
Unfortunately, your using an Xbox One makes the setup rather hard in comparison to a simple PC setup. What you'll need is a capture card. This is plugged into the output of your xbox and the input of your computer and then uses a piece of software, usually bundled with the hardware, to record game play as video files on your computer.
I've compiled a small list of capture cards you you to look at:
The AGPtek HD Game Capture Recorder
The Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro
Also, the Game Grumps made a satirical, but also quite informative video on the topic.
Hope this helps.
You run that to this. https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-gameplay-1080p/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471637925&sr=1-1&keywords=legato
...or you can get this one.https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Systems-Capture-Definition-Recorder/dp/B00840353W/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1471640561&sr=1-2&keywords=legato It has a component video adapter, but it can only record 30fps.
Maybe this?
Found it in /r/letsplay under 'Recommendations for a 1080p/60fps capture card?' from 7 months ago by /u/ClefAria
If your looking for a good recording device that captures video as you see it on the screen the Elgato http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-gameplay-1080p/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1463829481&sr=1-1&keywords=elgato+hd60 is an excellent capture device if you have the budget I use it and well known YouTube channel Game Grumps uses it. If you want to see what kind of quality video it captures check out the resolution of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWIaYsH_iEY&index=13&list=PLUWE4SGb8eWM-JvwgBUJ6h0rwShMxPgKy )
You can record any console on it. I have had trouble with pc resolution but that doesn't mean that it cant be done.
I personally use Shadow play For my Pc video's and here's the quality I get from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-tYtJgWD5g&list=PLUWE4SGb8eWPiJuj_4-Ueb4FeF7EmQJUV watch the videos maybe get inspiration for your post editing too!
Something like this:

I actually made a thread about this. The general consensus is that you want an Elgato HD60 if you're interested in recording. As I understand it, the Elgato capture software has basically editing capabilities, too. I would imagine it has enough functionality to easily cut out match and gif size clips to upload to Youtube or gfycat. Any more advanced editing would require some additional software, but I'm not really looking for that either.
It could be used for other things besides recording games as well. Say you wanted to clear some space off your DVR, but want to save the shows. You could record them from the DVR into a video file with this. Seems to be pretty easy to use from everything I've read.
Look into OBS. It was originally meant for streaming but they integrated recording into it as well. It supports a lot of capture cards as well as 60fps(if your card and camera support it). The Elgato HD60(which might come with its own recording software as well, if that works then OBS is unnecessary) is another popular card for gamers and was made specifically to allow 60fps recording, just takes standard HDMI input. You should also see if your Nikon allows you to turn off the HUD, if it doesn't then you may be out of luck- as well if your camera only supports 30fps monitoring it won't be possible to get 60fps out of it that way.
Ic, what you want is an Elgato HD60 to stream/record on consoles.
A capture card has a HDMI input for your camera and an HDMI output for plugging it into your computer. One of the most popular cards is the Elgato HD60. I'm not sure if your camera supports 60 frames/second but this card does, making it a little pricier. There are other cards like this one that only do 30 frames/second if you don't need the higher frame rate. Also, if you're into video games, you can use them to make gameplay videos and Twitch streams.
here's what i would do:

the xeon is the same as a locked i7, it just doesnt have an integrated gpu. that being said, i've included a dedicated gpu for light gaming and some video encoding.
it's a fairly cookie-cutter pc, the biggest deviation being the Elgato. they're really cool external capture cards that work extremely well for capturing console gameplay, which is why i chose it.
i believe you can stream directly from the Elgato, but i cant say for certain if the quality will be great that way, but you can use the Elgato as a cupture device inside OBS, which is what i think most people do.
check out the logitech c920 for a webcam and a blue snowball for a good entry-level mic
Well the Black Magic Intensity Pro used to be the choice, but the company has stopped support for their drivers and such. I couldn't find anything that would update the firmware to have it work properly on a windows 7 computer, it would mess up the capture in many ways that it needed an update. So I'd say personally stay away from the Black Magic Intensity Pro. Only thing I can think of is you'll have to resort in a HD capture device and find analogue to digital converters, this is what I'm currently running, An Elgato HD60 (for current gen and last gen consoles with HDMI) and then a RCA to HDMI Converter this let's me play old NES and PS2 games while the capture card can see the footage.
It actually is called Elgato.
I would suggest the Elgato Game Capture HD60.

I highly recommend the $1000 one because it offers much more functionality. That extra $160 goes a very long way. You get a hyper threaded CPU, 8 GB more RAM (I'll get to that), and a 120 GB SSD.
If you ever decided to record your gameplay and edit it as well, the $1000 build is definitely for you. If you only ever stream, the other one is a good starting point.
If you really want to step it up, you can get an Elgato and the Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter. This is how big YouTubers do it. It's very costly, but provides amazing content (1080p, 60fps)
Here are links to both
Elgato http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-gameplay-1080p60/dp/B00MIQ40JQ
Apple HDMI Lightning adapter http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009WHV3BM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1439702408&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=lightning+to+hdmi+cable&dpPl=1&dpID=21LJ2cFK%2BPL&ref=plSrch
The total would be around $200. Very costly, but an investment.
Elgato. Get the HD60 if you want to record 1080p/60fps. Costs about $160
I have http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-gameplay-1080p60/dp/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1430746160&sr=8-1&keywords=elgato+HD60
And would seriously recommend it.
'tis on sale too $150.

LeGaTo, Elgato. I admit, it was pretty weak.
Is this about Azure only including his own voice audio?
A lot of people recommend this one.
hmmm, you guys have the gamecapture hd60 instead of the gamecapture hd?
I believe you cant use the hd60 to record any component or composite games, only hdmi. What kind of computer are you using to record? The Blackmagic isn't that much harder on your computer than the elgato (if anything, its better haha), try check out this page to see what kind of physical specs your computer is going to need and if you are going to email/call them check out this page
Edit:I just realized that your s-video probably isn't an s-video. Try ask the owner of the elgato if they have a component adapter with them (should have came with the gamecapture HD). The adapter should plug into the 's-video' and you should be able to record in component or composite
For composite, put your yellow (video for composite) into the red (one of the videos for component), and the red/white audio cables into the red and white plugs that are connected by one cable.
do you have this?
https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-gameplay-1080p/dp/B00MIQ40JQ price on the hd60 may be a little high, but good luck selling it if it was a little cheaper id be interested
Hey there!
I'll chime in just for the sake of it but keep in mind im more of a marketing guy, so this is not my forte.
If all you want to do is stream, then the PS4 can achieve that on its own, just download this app and boom! If you're looking for something more smooth and professional, then i'd recommend getting one of these.
Hope it helps =D
banned? you cant use the system in offline mode? what a shitty system... glad im getting it for ps4.
