I ordered this on amazon thinking it was a gallon. Nope. They are about 3/4 of a gallon. Might work for what you need. I drilled a 1/2" hole in the lid and threw an o-ring in there.

Hi all,
I have a small question about equipment.

Right now im using a 1 gallon glass jar like the one in the link, however im looking to brew more as my family has taken a liking to it.

I was thinking of something like this igloo. Given the easy pour and the capacity. But I have some doubts due to it being plastic and not as easily coverablewith a breathable cloth.

Any advice or recomendations?

I made a few small changes though

1. I brewed the tea straight in the 1 gallon jar I bought (wife uses the tea kettle to heat up water for coffee and doesn't like tea )
2. I used the cheese cloth that came with the 1 gallon Jar since it looked pretty official (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075JR6H11/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
3. as I said in a different comment, my house temp changes a lot, so I bought a jar heater and kept changing the setting from L to M depending on the day and what the temp reading said. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W1B44DV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
4. because I needed an outlet for step 3, I put it in my kitchen, though in a corner that gets no direct sunlight but does get regular light (I usually store alcohol there, but moved it)
5. I used wholefoods "365 foods" organic black tea bags and probably left them in there for about 30 min instead of 20
