Going back to your original post, Satanism and Wicca are two different religions. Satan/Lucifer is from Abrahamic religions like Christianity. There is no Satan in Wicca or most other pagan religions. That being said, plenty of witches practice magic without invoking gods or goddesses. Some might call on spirits, guides, ancestors, elements, etc. some might not call on anyone. You'll find a lot variety in peoples beliefs and their craft.
Many books I've found are influenced by Wicca, but that doesn't mean you won't get some good information form them.
The Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells by Judika Illes is a pretty good one, lots of information on herbs and their attributes, etc.
Paganism: An Introduction to Earth- Centered Religions by River Higginbotham was one of the first books I read when trying to understand nature-based beliefs.
