I have been using my Aeron at home full time(8-16 hours a day) for the last 4 years. I've sat on it during hot days with nothing but shorts on and have had no problem with the plastic ledge. Its really smooth and has no edges that dig in. Also the chair netting allows for good airflow to prevent sweating. With the 12 year warranty, and being able to buy replacement parts to swap out your self, this is the best BIFL office chair on the market IMO.
I would suggest trying out the different models(A, B, C sizes) and figuring out which feels best for you. I purchased my first Aeron off CL for $200. It was the size B base model, the most common one you will find. I used it for 6 months but my torso is long and the back would dig into my shoulders when i would leave back. After knowing i wanted another Aeron, i purchased the size C directly from Herman Miller with all the bells and whistles (Chrome base, leather adjustable armrests, Bigger wheels) and it has been wonderful. I would highly suggest getting the 3rd party headrest that makes the chair even better. Its on Amazon from Engineered Now and completely worth it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MV8C8TA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The headrest on Amazon made by EngineerNow is a great match for the Aeron. I have been using mine for 3 years and its wonderful. Matches the material perfectly.

So for the Aeron, I see a basic version, and a highly adjustable. What is the difference? What are they referring to when they mean "adjustable"?
Edit: nevermind I went with the full package size B. $474 out the door. Also ordered this headrest to go with it.

>I looked up office roller blade wheels on amazon. They're amazing, highly recommend
I have that same Aeron/Rollerblade wheel setup. I love it.
Also added the 3rd party headrest, it is a great match.
Leave that thing along and get this sick headrest for your chair (that I have and love)

This is what I have. As a tall guy it really made the chair more comfortable for me.
I’m using this. It works pretty well
This is the one I bought, just make sure you select the right one for your chair.
It isn't cheap but I was very happy when it got delivered. Looks like it matches the chair 100 percent
