The LX Desk Mount LCD arm. It’s fairly hefty.
I also have an electric sit/stand desk, which I’d recommend - it lets you work at whatever height you want, which would probably help your neck.
Do you mean the Ergotron? (you didn't reply to my comment)
If so, it's called the Ergotron LX. I bought mine second hand, and it works perfectly. Check out some videos on Youtube - it's very highly regarded by digital artists for this purpose.
Just make sure that your screen uses the correct mounting method.
After spending big dollar on x34, you are trying to save $50 on the monitor arm that will hold it? I'm not sure how I feel about that.
My recommendation is Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm
As for my experience, ghosting is definitely more evident than the 2 QNIX panels above, but it doesn't affect gameplay or even movies to a really noticeable degree (at least for me).
Flickering is a noticeable problem in menu / load screens for pretty much every game. I've experienced it in everything from Witcher 3 to Golf With Your Friends...lol. But I've yet to experience it noticeably during gameplay, although that may be due to my GTX 1080 rarely ever dipping below that framerate threshold for the problem to manifest.
As for things like color banding, it's noticeable in the gray shades but doesn't really bother me.
Before it's asked, I have it mounted on an Ergotron LX: https://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491798786&sr=8-1&keywords=ergotron+lx
Oh and the desk is custom built out of some plywood :)
I dont know what you mean by pivot; pivoting means turning around a point... Well, what point, angle, and direction?
Generally, you will have the most degrees of freedom by using an arm mount. You can use an arm mount with any VESA mountable monitor. I would also suggest an IPS monitor as it has better viewing angles off to the side than a TN panel would be. You should be able to find a monitor that meets your requirements for under $300.
My desk is also glass topped and the mount I purchased works fine because the base is a decent size. The glass on my desk is 3/8" thick tempered glass. And if you are really worried the mount, you could put wood or metal pieces between the mount and the glass for extra stability
This is the one I purchased - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00358RIRC
None whatsoever. I'd recommend getting a scratch-guard for the screen (or taping the thinnest piece of acetate you can find over the surface like I did years ago), and getting a desk-mounted Ergotron to help manipulate the quite-heavy Cintiq around.
One thing: the most recent models are HD, whereas the older models (like the one you're looking at) are standard-def DVI @ 1600x1200 resolution. If HD display quality is important to you, maybe think twice?
You could get a few articulating mounts. Here is an example of a product that could work: Amazon
I'd definitely recommend shelling out about 40$ extra to get an Ergotron LX over that one. The price difference isn't huge and the LX is both sturdier and easier to adjust due to the spring loaded height adjustment vs locking on the Neo-Flex.
Got you covered then, get this arm:
https://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC/
I run a small animation studio and we got that for our cintiqs, it solves all the issues for carpal tunnel as it allows you to have the most comfortable position for the tablet.
Hell, my business partner has a chair that allows him to be all the way down like he was laying on a bed and he just moves the monitor to his belly to draw like that when he's feeling extremely lazy xDDDD
Here's a video on how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ek97VT8n27U
Another solution would be these supports to rest your elbow so that you can have more comfort on drawing on a tablet when the tablet is on your desk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPQRJuIXpK0
But if you get the first one you won't need the other one.
Just a tip for those that don't know - Amazon Basics Single Monitor Stand is basically a rebranded Ergotron LX, for about half the price.
I have two of them, and they are rock solid for a 34" and even a 40" monitor. The Ergotron extension works fine with them; the only difference is the finish on the Amazon version is more matt than shiny - personally, I prefer that.

The MSA20 can be grommet mounted. Yes. But unless your desk already has grommet holes (about a 2" whole in desk) then you would have to use a hole saw and cut your own.
It works like this. That video isn't the MSA20 but that's the way you would have to do it on a desk that has that annoying outer support frame which blocks a typical edge clamp.
The Ergotron LX is also a very good arm that will work just fine with the AW38"/AW34" ultrawides. It says monitors up to 34" but this will handle the 38" AW just fine since the panel without the stand weighs a mere 19lbs or so.
But you would have to mount it with screws at the back of the monitor like any typical VESA mount. The Ergotron LX also comes with grommet mounting options.
Here's another good example of how grommet mounting works.
So lots of options ...
Ever thought about getting a new desk? ;-)
Best of luck.

This is the one I bought.
This one from Amazon Basics was not available when I purchased mine. It looks like identical hardware other than the two-tone vs. all black. Personally, I would have probably with the Amazon version since I like the aesthetic better.
One bit of advice if you decide to purchase the Ergotron (or any mount), make sure it is rated to hold the weight of the monitor. I had to tighten the tension adjustment all the way stiff, or the arm would sag several inches over a couple hour period.
Sorry, I think there was a miscommunication there. I specifically meant the LX arm that clamps to the back of your desk. It can hold a ton of weight and swivels/rotates fully, so I always found it ideal for keeping even a large display tablet hovering above your desk. I personally pull my down to slightly rest near my lap and it works like a charm. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00358RIRC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Get a (second hand) Ergotron LX: https://www.amazon.com/LX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B00358RIRC?ref_=ast_sto_dp
The clamp can be removed during installation with hex screws. Get a (dropin) saw and cut a slit in the desk. Slide the mount in, screw in the clamp, clamp it down, install the monitor.
Had this setup for years, will be invisible from the front/sides as the base is wider and deeper than where the slit will need to be sawed.
Anyone got any suggestions on the Ergotron XL vs. the Amazon Basics Premium Monitor Stand?
The Amazon Basics one is cheaper and honestly looks almost exactly the same (just rebranded for Amazon), but I don't know if they're actually the same or not.

There ya go!
Ergotron LX Dual Stacking @ Amazon
I've used the Ergotron brand of these for 10 years now. They have extensions you can buy, but also notebook holders you can put on at the end. AmazonBasics have the same exact looking design models for 3/4 the price... I've never used but they look so similar I assume they are EOM.
Cheaper alternatives out there for a budget I've used include TykeSupply but they are bulkier and heavier; but made of solid metal so might have better uses in some scenario's.
I was never satisfied with many of the other overpriced options, or even their lack of design flexibility for future use cases. I've readjusted my layouts many times over the years.. which is an understatement.

It is the Ergotron LX But i think the amazon basic one is the same manufacture for half the price, don't hold me to that though.
The bottom monitor is on an Ergotron LX arm that I got 3 years ago.
The new arm is a much cheaper Huanuo.
When I got the Dell monitor there wasn't this plethora of cheap monitor mounts on Amazon Canada and the Ergotron was basically the only available gas spring arm that would hold a 34" (at least, that I could find). It's an absolute tank of a mount, very sturdy with no wobble whatsoever. The newer Huanuo seems... ok. It's very obviously not the same quality as the Ergotron but for about 1/3 the price, that's to be expected. Remains to be seen how well it'll hold the 29" monitor especially at that height - it's at its absolute maximum height, if the arm dips down at all once the monitor is on it, it'll be too low so I might have to return it and spring for something better.
I used the Ergotron LX.
I believe the Amazon Basics one though is just a reskin and a bit cheaper.
I've done similar things, swinging my monitor arm around from the desk to be viewed from my driving rig and/or VR area.
If your monitor is under 25 pounds an Ergotron LX arm might be good for this, especially because you can get an extension which gives it more reach. You can see one with an extension in this photo. As someone else mentioned, mounting it to an existing VESA mount is going to be an issue, though. You could perhaps mount a block of wood to the existing VESA mount and then attach the LX to that, or maybe something could be worked out by using the wall-mount version of the arm.
Admittedly this is not really "cheap", but I've used these arms for years and have found them to be very reliable so long as you don't put too much weight on them.
For heavier monitors there are the HX arms which can hold more weight but are also much more expensive, and don't have as much height adjustment or the ability to add an extension.
BTW Ergotron makes a VESA quick-release bracket which is useful with arms such as the LX because otherwise you have to bolt the monitor directly to the arm. The HX arm has a removable head built into the design.

Hey I just wanted to give an update.
I am looking at the LX model. In the reviews for it on amazon...someone mentioned if I am going to be using this with a standing desk that I shouldbuy the "tall pole" version of it.

Now I can't decide....any advice would be great.
I had an issue with Amazon when I bought my AmazonBasics arm; they said it was in stock when I ordered it but it wasn't actually in stock - they delayed the order and said it was in shipping process but refused to cancel the order and then got one sent out within a week and a half of the order but I also ordered https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00358RIRC/ instead as i intended to return the amazonbasics one and its worked really well so far

Turns out they are the exact same product but in different colours lol.
It's the Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mBPkCbR55DZV2
Very solid and very smooth action, if a bit pricey... However I didn't want to put such a monitor on a cheesy arm :P
Here you go! Link
Ooh I can help!
I have an Acer X34a and bought one of these:
Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00358RIRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rkz9AbTZMK64J
I'd highly recommend it. It is around £110 but it is extremely well built, sturdy and offers a few mounting options.
It comes with a clamp to attach to a desk and can also be bolted into the desk. I ended up drilling a hole through my desk and bolting it in.
is this one ok? Amazon says 32" but website says <34"
I have a movable stand from Ergotron Ergotron LX Desk Mount
Its awesome, very sturdy, and allows me to swing that monitor around without much trouble.
This amazon basics appears very similar, is cheaper and has great reviews: AmazonBasics Single Monitor Display Mounting Arm
I also have one of these for a monitor I dont need to move about: Mount-It! MI-751 Single LCD Monitor Desk Mount
Cheap, sturdy, I have no complaints and would buy another if and when I end up with a 3rd monitor.
I got this one, I just installed it today. It's pretty neat. I think I might need to buy an arm extension though.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00358RIRC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This one. Works like a dream!
I've been told this one here works well.
And yeah, a surface tablet is far more convenient, I just enjoy having a second monitor, and having a 1:1 translation when drawing.
The monitor does not come with a desk mount, only the stand. The monitor does comes with a VESA compatible adapter for all VESA compatible mounts though.
This is the one I purchased - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00358RIRC
Ok now I want to see how you get in the chair! I've done something similar with this monitor arm and this PC case which when turned on its side fits with about a millimeter to spare under the bench. I just sit at the bench which, granted, isn't super comfortable... but you get used to it.
Thank you! They are called Ergoton LX Desk Mount, here is a link.
And the other is just a generic one from amazon, I believe its this one
http://www.amazon.com/Monitor-monitors-widescreen-standard-mount/dp/B001HHNCQY
You can get an arm that would clamp on to the desk and allow you to swing the monitor out closer to the RIG then swing it back over the desk. Something like this.
