I use this ESR case I got on Amazon and I like it. Snaps in easily and feels secure enough. Only gripe is the angle the screen is at when you use the stand. I stick a pen between the top of the triangle and back of the iPad and it’s the perfect angle for me

Tons of skins. Dbrand makes nice ones. I have one from Fishskyn that I like. I also have a light trifold case for the viewing angles.

I've got a 12.9"; but I ended up buying a magic keyboard refurbished from Best Buy for the smaller footprint. The combo touch seems like the most versatile, but the width of the keyboard and the iPad with the kickstand is too wide to use at my desk.

If you're looking for an affordable folio for a quarter of the cost of Apple's, ESR makes a good magnetic folio with a flap that sits over the pencil for about $25 on amazon. That was for the 12.9 so I'd imagine it would be cheaper for the 11". ESR Magnetic Folio

All told I spent less on a refurbished magic keyboard and that folio than I would have spent on a combo touch. It's a little inconvenient when I need to switch between, but the trade off is worth it for me.

Of course I've only had a little while to test it, but it feels very nice quality, especially for the price. Looks like they have models for your iPad too. Especially if you're looking to save some money while still getting decent protecton, I'd recommend this!

How about something like this? Only potential downside is it doesn’t cover the frame of the iPad, but the front and back are covered and it has a magnetic flap to keep the pencil secured. So if you are reasonably careful with your iPad and aren’t needing maximum protection, this should be a great choice IMO.

Bought one of these last year. Not expensive, slim and the pencil holder/latch can just be pulled tighter if you don’t have the pencil clipped on to the iPad.

I never used a screen protector with iPad but I used a cover.

You could either get the Pitaka case so it still works with a Magic Keyboard, or a magnetic folio case from Amazon.

I have a soft cover case (like you mentioned) and I find it inconvenient having to reattach and remove it when switching between the case and Magic Keyboard.

A magnetic folio case (lots on Amazon such as this one by ESR) would be more convenient and portable because it can fold flat, and she can simply snap the iPad to the magnets when switching.

I would recommend a regular case from amazon as they are cheap and well made. If you want one that's basically like the smart folio with extra protection on the back Link or if you want one that has a lot more protection but still slim Link 2.

I have the IPP 11, and I use this case as I like having a keyboard. Link The keys are slightly cramped but isn't too bad. It's the only case I have found that let you detach the iPad and still have a kickstand in the back and remains protective. Works pretty well overall.
