You might want to consider the Hook Hub. It allows you to use inexpensive Etekcity plugs

I've had this system for 8 or 9 months now and although I can point out some stuff about it I don't like, I'll say this--it works flawlessly for me. In fact, it works better than my Philips Hue system. One thing that is cool is that you can purchase a crap-ton of those cheap Etekcity plugs and the Hook will control them all.

Supposedly they're coming out with a next-gen version of the Hook, but I've seen nothing about that recently. They sell the original/current version on Amazon, but note that it began as a Kickstarter project.
