This tarot deck is gorgeous. You could add a crystal set to go with it.
I wouldn't mail makeup because it has a tendency to break, but nail polish would be ok. Essie is my favorite brand.
Someone gave me a soft pink hoodie as a gift 15 years ago or so and it was one of my favorite gifts ever.
She'd probably like any Alfonso Mucha prints.
If your friend is into comics at all, there is one called Girl genius I'd recommend. It's free online so you can check it out before buying a book.
I'm new to tarot as well, but your first deck should definitely be one that speaks to you. I tried doing tarot years ago and bought a classic RWS deck, and wound up never doing anything with it because I didn't like the deck, but I thought it was the deck I "should" use. My real first deck then was the Ethereal Visions tarot. It uses the same symbology as the RWS, but in an art style I liked a lot better. Having a deck I connect with has really helped me get into tarot.
Is it the Ethereal Visions Illuminated deck? https://www.amazon.com/dp/1572819251/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_TsXzFbWMWFJPN

I like Ethereal Visions by Matt Hughes. view on Amazon
They are the Ethereal Visions series by Matt Hughes, the two tarot decks (solar and lunar) and the oracle deck. I picked out the 53 cards of the 240-odd in total, changed some names of the cards to fit them together as a single deck, photoshopped some details in or out, etc. Sadly I had to leave some of my favorite cards out because of toplessness, which probably wouldn't be an issue but I wanted to be safe. They are wonderful work, some of the best decks I've ever owned.
Same! Recently I've had a lot of thoughts about Christianity from a literary/mythological perspective, and... Lol, it's frustrating, because the thing most sides of the argument agree upon is that it's a matter of literal fact.
Anyway! Picking the right deck is important, I think. I stayed away from tarot for a long time, because... Well, the imagery on the original Ryder-Waite creeps me out a bit; most decks I've encountered have at least one card that I just don't feel good about. My favorite has become The Ethereal Tarot; the imagery is very gentle and light. The other deck I have is Yoshi Yoshitani's Tarot of the Divine, which carries images from world mythology. You might be especially interested in that one, because it gets into the relationship between tarot and myth, how they're both things that relate to the unconscious. Yoshitani also has Beneath the Moon, a book with longer versions of all the myths in the deck, as well as larger illustrations. I use it as a companion to the deck.
I love this deck so much. So beautiful and has a great energy. Clear and calm.
Thanks so much! I got them from here
My most beloved would have to be: Ethereal Visions by Matt Hughes (https://www.amazon.com/Ethereal-Visions-Illuminated-Tarot-Deck/dp/1572819251)
Second place would be The Children of Litha by Alexandria Huntington (https://www.behance.net/gallery/76359269/The-Children-of-Litha-Tarot-Deck)
The other two are Mystical Manga Tarot by Rann & Britt's Third Eye Tarot by Britt.
Lovely, lovely decks!
I’m a one-tarot deck only kind of girl, though I own three. My one and only tarot love is Ethereal Visions by Matt Hughes. Very easy to read and based on the Rider-Waite, so if you are using a guide book, it will be easy to transfer the information since most guides are based on the Rider-Waite.
I also love Marigold Tarot by Amrit Brar, however I’ve steered away from using it because it veers pretty far from tradition and when I was a new tarot reader (I’d consider myself intermediate now), I couldn’t get a hang of it.
Ethereal Visions by far!!
