Idea: get some reflective tape like so and put some squares on different keys or parts of the keyboard on a set pattern.
There should be enough IR light from a standard lightbulb to reflect off of them and you could use the pattern for the to roughly track a virtual keyboard on screen. Could pair nicely with the Quest hand tracking? It seems bt keyboards keep a pretty standard 78 key layout.
