There are many excellent elf-centered books in the Forgotten Realms series. Evermeet is a great book detailing the history of the Elves in the Forgotten Realms setting interspersed with a modern (in Forgotten Realms terms) plot. The Last Mythal series is one of my favorite Realms series, again focused on Elven matters and with lots of excellent adventure and magic and such. I might have to re-read that now actually.
