I believe the concern/risk is mostly just because they haven't done the testing. Personally all the strange chemicals and additives in the popular whey and casein brands freak me out, so I opt for a pea based one. I've used the Evolve brand throughout three pregnancies and breastfeeding without issue. I think it tastes better than whey or casein and it's a lot gentler on my digestion (fewer shake farts 😄). Also you may want to focus on building muscle which will require plenty of weight training and protein (I like these options: Evolve Protein Powder, Ideal Vanilla, 20g Protein, 2 Pound https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01071RMZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_0zFCFbEZ7QB4Q Vega Sport Premium Protein Powder, Vanilla, Plant Based Protein Powder Post Workout - Certified Vegan, Vegetarian, Keto-Friendly, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, BCAA Amino Acid (20 Servings / 1lb 13.2oz) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016D9IGRA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fab_HAFCFbAX2W8BV). All the hard work and discipline in the world can’t counteract a lack of physical strength
