Boy or girl? Or maybe both? I'm a girl. Can confirm hair everywhere. No idea how or where it comes from. I bought a rubber carpet broom.
Whaaaat!? I've never seen those and now I want one! opens amazon
Edit: I ordered this one!!! It even doubles as a squeegee!! I'm so excited lol thanks, OP! It's going to be amazing on my wood stairs AND carpet.
My gsd cannot tolerate the furminator, no matter how many treats are involved. I have a slicker brush placed in different rooms so that I can brush him when the mood strikes.
Swimming helps a lot if you can get your dog into a river or stream.
I run a roomba every day plus the regular vacuum once a day. I also have hardwood floors and sweeping was a nightmare until I found this rubber bristle broom. It doesn’t just push the fur across the room; it actually moves the tumbleweeds into a pile.
rubber bristle broom
If you have pets that shed at all, hands down this.
Also just added those cleansing towels to my list!! I have rosacea and I've been having pretty bad flare ups lately - I really think it's just stress but I'm on the lookout for anything that can help my very unhappy skin.
Oh, also reusable pads. I got my first set gifted from someone on here and since then I've bought enough. Better for the environment, cheaper, and holy crap I did not realize how much nicer they'd feel than plastic ones.
I have a rubber broom similar to the one in the link ffhurdss recommended. This is the one I bought for cat hair on carpet. Considerably cheaper than the artificial turf broom I recommended.
I dunno how good it would be for the pine needles though. While it's excellent at squooshing all the hair (cat and human) and a load of dust into a pick-uppable clump, crumbs and tiny scraps tend to bounce, flip around and not really collect in the clump. They get picked up when I go over it with the vacuum after using the broom to keep the vacuum roller brush from getting clogged with hair.
sorry I cannot comment on the actual vacuum itself (I’m interested in what others say!) but I have two cats and a lot of hair myself, as well as hardwood floors & this rubber brush on Amazon has been an actual lifesaver FURemover Broom, Pet Hair Removal Tool with Squeegee & Telescoping Handle That Extends from 3-5', Black & Yellow [link]
I’ve also heard microfiber cloths on a swifer like device is phenomenal!
A friend of mine with two goldens recommended this broom and it's been the best ever on my wood floors for the tumbleweeds! It clumps the hair together instead of flipping it up in the air like a regular broom. I only need to vacuum the two area rugs in the house.
This isn’t a vacuum but it’s a must have in our house for hard wood floors. We have two cars and a dog who sheds year round. My hair salon uses the same one!

Edit: in my opinion roomba is NOT worth it. We use this broom and a cordless vacuum to pick up the pile and get in the corners. Quick and easy. We have a roomba and rarely use it because we have to empty it a lot and it’s not as good as the broom
Certainly! It was this one on amazon I don’t recall it saying so in any description for the product, but it works tremendously better if you spray a bit of water down first. That was another reason I hadn’t done this until now, I had no idea until this “trend” popped up!
This is the one I have:
Hair rake and squeege
Surprisingly a rubber squeegee works really well for pet hair removal out of carpeting. Kinda like this
It's friggin' awesome this thing... I tried it out on an area that had already been vacuumed - and it pulled up stuff the vacuum had left behind. Definitely requires "raking" action than "push broom" action.
You might try going over the carpet with a rubber broom. It can sweep up a lot of fur pretty fast so your vacuum doesn't get overwhelmed so fast.
That's what I was going to suggest! We had them in hair school for the carpeted parts of the floor. This one has a long handle: FURemover Broom with Squeegee made from Natural Rubber, Multi-Surface and Pet Hair Removal, Extends from 3 ft. to 6 ft [link]

I think it might be this!!
FURemover Pet Broom
I think this?
Smaller handheld versions of this are available as well; I use them for detailing cars as in cars that have had furry friends often.
I have a rubber broom like this one to sweep it into a pile, pick up the big pieces by hand, and vacuum the rest.
Yes, here is the link to the fur remover FURemover Broom SW-250I-AMZ-6,... [link]
My particular one is the FURemover, I got it on Amazon for around $20. You use it just like a rake, raking up all the hair haha.

Ha! Thanks! I got myself a couple of tools I’m obsessed with that are miracle workers!

Highly recommend for mega-shed households (I also have two goldens and hardwood floors and rugs):
I use a rubber brush for pet hair like this one.
This will change your life works fantastic on walls. It’s literally a fur magnet for even the fur you couldn’t see
This is the one I have and I love it
I love this one! It has rubber bristles so the hair doesn’t stick and the other side is a squeegee for all the dirt that falls out of their hair lol
this one on amazon
Mine was bought about a year ago on amazon!
Squeegee you can pick up almost anywhere...Target, WalMart, some Grocery Stores, Dollar Stores etc
Amazon and Bed Bath Beyond carry the one with the yellow broom handle....keyword “Evriholder Furemover”
I have no idea if it actually works, or how it works, and it's sitting at 4 stars only on Amazon. But here it is!
i would probably go home with a sebo K3 if i were in your shoes (or can go big with a D4). Sebo's quick fieldstrip head will come in handy in removing the medium/long hair, washing/disinfecting, and i dont think there's anything else like it in that regard. a new roll costs like $25 if you happen to kill it. Not sure if it comes with parquet or kombi head also but they work good with front brush removed. Sebo bags are cheaper than miele i think, but 2/3 the size unless you shell out the $$$ for a D4 which is more comparable to a miele C3. Smaller bag capacity could be a good thing. How long do you really want crap to ferment in the vacuum anyway?
The Miele C3 costs more but has bigger bag comparable to sebo D4. the SEB236/228 powerheads basically dont fieldstrip at all, but it has a slot in the brushroll for scissors. I would probably pick a C2 or C3 for a house with no pets.
Both choice are totl for filtration. Spend the savings on bags. Change often if it smells. Buy bag tablets.
On second thought, maybe a vacuum cleaner is the wrong tool for massive amounts of fur. You wouldn't use pliars to remove a lug nut.. but you could. Long hair and spinning brushes don't seem like they should go together. Maybe the suction can be used in conjunction with a specialized tool?

Grandi Groom AB24 Carpet Rake, 18-Inch Head, 54-Inch Handle, Blue [link]
I have one of these - works great on plush carpet.
Bought it at the As Seen On TV store.
I have one kind of like this that does a good job, but I think you really need a better vacuum.
