I just rebatteried my 3 APC SUA rack mount ups's including my sua1500rm2u (others were sua2200rm2u and sua750rm2u)
The 4 batteries for the SUA1500rm2u was < $100 from amazon. I used these https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NJ3H0C/
I do like these UPS's BUT my only issue is they don't have the run time of a my old big Smart UPS 2000's that have an external battery pack. I get 30 mins to 1 hour on my SUA2200rm2u but with my big old Smart UPS 2000 I get a run time of muliple hours. however, there is a cost in space. My old Smart UPS 2000 is about 20" tall, 24" deep and 10" wide.
One thing I did learn. You may need to calibrate the UPS after replacing the batteries. One of my UPS's needed recalibration and it's not hard but a pain. Basically, Charge the UPS for a good 24 hours (no load attached). Now plug in some static load (light, heater etc) so it uses 20-30% of the load. Now let the UPS run down and then recharge it again with no load attached.
I have a solar setup. Starts with 2 12v batteries wired in parallel to increase the capacity. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NJ3H0C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_17vWFbWDWAFDK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I have them attached to a cheap charge controller, convenient one as it has a USB jack. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072MMDY4F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_B-vWFb5TS95FB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I have a pair of panels supplying power https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072B5P91B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_t.vWFbZXY26CD?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 The batteries and controller are placed into a cheap plastic ammo crate. For me, from the spring solstice till fall, the camera and a little water fountain pump run 24/7, once the earth tilts in the fall, I lose some sun, the fountain is shut down anyway and the camera will stay one all night if the day was full sun, cloudy days I lose the camera overnight. I've had this setup working on a v2 since early 2019. Not sure the v3 power demand differences. Obviously this is a very cheap setup. Larger panels, lithium ion or polymer batteries would do better as well as a more expensive charge controller. But, for a cheap setup on a cheap camera, it does the trick.
I don't, but it's a Tomberlin Crossfire 150.
I saw this kit, and for the price I thought it'd be great to have a backup,
