I use an app called LoseIt to track calories. I have a food scale, but part of using it is just to teach myself to accurately eyeball quantities— ie, once I’ve put 2oz of pasta in a bowl on a scale 30 times, I can probably guess.
Been vegetarian for 18 years (seeing PETA videos as a kid will fuck you up!) and I’m pretty light on the dairy, too. Trying to keep my protein intake super high while I drop weight so I’ve been supplementing with a couple whey protein shakes a day.
Oh!!! The thing that has made IF possible: edamame spaghetti. It’s part of my meal most of my OMAD days, macros on it are unreal. Link— https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H4LBM54/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_e-PxDbSEMRKMK
The Amazon link didn't work for me in the US. Trying a general Amzon search on B01H4LBM54, which should be the Amazon part number. This worked! https://www.amazon.com/Explore-Cuisine-Organic-Edamame-Spaghetti/dp/B01H4LBM54/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=B01H4LBM54&qid=1657383229&sr=8-1
I just wish they had different pasta shapes as I'm going more for rigatoni. But I'll try it with spaghetti. Thanks!
Hands down - edamame pasta is the best! Just had some tonight. Make sure you cook it for 10 minutes (don't read the actual directions). It's much better than anything else I've tried. It's expensive but worth it! Personally, I measure 1.25 ounces of pasta for a meal because its very filling. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H4LBM54/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Using some freezer leftovers, trying out some new pantry items, and adding breakfast to the mix this week!
Salted caramel chocolate chip pancakes (2 net carbs per pancake)
Based off of this recipe, I added some salted caramel chocolate chips from Lily's. I halved the recipe since her directions as listed make a huge portion.
Roast beef flatbread sliders with au jus (7 net carbs)
Brought back this flatbread recipe from meal prep a few weeks ago. I'm lazy and used half a packet of au jus powder versus making it, but seasoned it a bit more.
Edamame noodles in roasted poblano cream sauce with jalapeño chicken sausage and cilantro (14 net carbs)
Massaman curry chicken with edamame noodles (12 net carbs)
I linked them in my comment where I go through the recipe (bought in bulk) but I also believe Aldi and some other grocery stores sell them. IMO the brand I bought becomes more reasonably priced when you realize the servings are double what they need to be.

I recently found edamame pasta which steps up the protein and fiber from the Banza pasta.
