I have these on one of my DS4s: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RLSXWC2
The four buttons will map to regular buttons and with a tiny bit of soldering they will map to the touchpad click (but not to touch and they only recognise both clicks as a single input).
But the wireless PowerA Switch Pro controllers have back buttons as standard, which again can only be mapped to standard buttons. They also have a much smoother gyro than a DS4 (although no touchpad). Swings and roundabouts.
Why not talk about paddles? Four paddles cost $30 and little work. It is so easy.
